Is it necessary to send a non-renewal notice 30 days before contract expiry?
Dear sir/madam,
My contract was finished this December 16, then I sent a letter to my company that I will not renew my contract but my company told me that because I did not notice them 30 days before, they will cut 30 days from my salary.
Is that right even I came to work and finished 6 years with my company?

Dear questioner,
Thank you for contacting me!
Unfortunately, you have not mentioned the nature of your employment contract.
Please be noted that if it is a limited contract, you may serve a notice of non-renewal to terminate the contract as per article 113 of the UAE labor law.
An unlimited contract is a continuous contract with no expiry and hence you cannot serve a non-renewal notice for an unlimited contract.
As stipulated in the agreement or as per the law you shall serve a notice period of 30 days, otherwise, you shall compensate the employer in lieu of the notice period.
