Can a non-Muslim father claim the custody of his child as per the new personal status law?
1
Q: Hello,
I would love to understand the new child custody laws in-depth for non-Muslim residents.
My wife was granted our child's custody in the judgment of the first instance court but I have appealed against it.
Having said that, I have a family here in Dubai to support raising my son whereas my wife has only herself (she is currently employed) and has a nanny only.
How can I get full custody of our son or maybe apply for joint custody as per the new law?

Q: Does anyone know what Federal Law was in use for non-Muslim marriage registration in the UAE before the new law of civil marriage was implemented in February 2023?
Perhaps there is a Federal Decree that authorized churches and worship places to register marriages in the UAE?
I am looking for the official document.

Which law, UAE or UK, would be better for divorce and a fair split of costs for children?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
My brother, who is British, is seeking a divorce lawyer. His wife, also British, refuses to divorce him. They were married in a church in Jebel Ali, Dubai, and it has been 4 years since.
She does not work, and he covers 100% of the expenses. She aims to trap him to avoid returning to work, and her family possesses evidence of mental health issues.
She refuses to undergo a medical test due to fears of losing custody.
He is seeking someone to represent him and advise on whether UAE divorce law or UK law would be better, considering a fair split of costs for their two children.

Does the Abu Dhabi Family Court have jurisdiction over my U.S. assets in the divorce?

1
Q: Hello,
Both my (now) ex-wife and I are Americans and non-Muslims living in Abu Dhabi. We are going through a divorce in the Abu Dhabi Family Court. My ex-wife is suing me for a (very large) financial support package, and I am being asked to disclose my personal financial information.
Two questions:
1. Do the courts have any jurisdiction over the USD assets I hold in the USA?
2. Am I required to reveal any information about my company, which is an independent legal entity based in the USA?
Thank you!

How to withdraw a legal notice of eviction after serving it to the tenant? 0
I'm a landlord, and I have already served a notice of eviction to my tenant, 02 months ago, as per the proper process, i.e. through Dubai Notary.
The reason was to sell the property. However, now, after 02 months, my situation has changed, and I no longer need to sell my property.
In this case, can I go back to Notary and ask them to 'cancel' the already served eviction notice?
