Q: Can I get my money back after I purchased an engine from a company in Dubai because it is bad and not good to be used?

Q: I bought a car from a Dubai dealer in November 2020 and in July 2021 (less than a year) the engine of the car stopped working. When the dealer removed the engine from the car to see what happened, he realized that the engine has already been repaired before with non-original pieces. When I bought it, they only stated that the car has been repainted; it's an obvious fraud. Is there any way I can ask for a refund of the damages? Thank you.

Q: Is there a law regarding a "cooling period" on an item purchased? We had a problem with a company distributing vacuum cleaners in Sharjah, we have returned the item to them as we felt like being pressured to buy without giving us time to think before buying, and their contract states that I have to pay 4,000 Dirhams as a cancellation if I return the item within 3 days. Is it legal? Where is the 3 day cooling period?

Q: Hello, A garage has caused multiple damages to our car whilst they were fitting parts they recommended we replace. Dents, missing washer cap, broken boot handle and now we cannot open the boot. The door doesn’t open properly; dent in the door grid, etc. It’s been absolutely horrendous. They had our car for 16 days while new parts were “supposed” to be delivered. Nothing has been done and I think they are playing with us. Is there any government department that can help as I’m at a loss? What to do? this is so very distressing! I’ve paid over AED15,000 for parts and they damaged the car whilst replacing the parts they said to change. Thanks and regards,
