What are the rights of an employee after terminating his consulting agreement?
A company based out of the UAE in which I was on a consulting agreement chose to terminate my agreement. The agreement had a 30 day notice period, and the company is not paying for the notice period.
What do I do?
Dear questioner,
If your collaboration with that company is based on a collaboration agreement, then we need to study the agreement and its termination clauses to advise you accordingly.
If you are employed with that company and there is an employment contract in place, the employer needs to provide a valid reason for termination of your employment, needs to follow the notice period mentioned in the employment contract, and needs to pay you the following:
Last salary; notice period; end of service gratuity; unused leave and a flight ticket back to your home country (if it is the case).

The company's headquarters is outside the Emirates, and it cannot do anything inside the Emirates because the spatial jurisdiction is outside the Emirates.
