2
Q: I am looking forward to setting up an online business directory for businesses in a specific sector and charging these businesses an annual fee for there ads.
For me to accept online payments from these businesses in Dubai, is it a legal requirement to have my business incorporated in Dubai/UAE or I can incorporate it offshore like in the BVI's, Cyprus...etc. and legally operate here?
The reason is that the business may not necessarily operate in the UAE alone but also in many other countries.

Hiring freelancers for an online business
1
Q: To whom this may concern,
I am a Canadian citizen living in Al Ain city in the United Arab Emirates. I am currently thinking of starting an online business similar to "Talabat.com" if you know it except it will not be a food service. I have some people in mind that can work with me as freelancers but at the same time, I am wondering what are the rules to follow as an expat regarding this issue.
I don't know if I need to draft up contracts etc. I just want to be on the safe side. I'd love to hear back from you.
Regards,
M

Doing business online through drop shipping
2
Q: Hi,
I am a resident in the UAE and I want to do business online, but it has nothing to do in the UAE.
I will buy products from China and ask the suppliers to ship them directly to my customers in Europe.
There will be no import or re-export or even selling in the UAE.
What kind of license do I need for this?
(This business model is called "drop shipping").

The license required for an affiliate marketing website

15
Q: Dear sir/madam,
I want to start doing affiliate marketing where I will run YouTube ads. Interested users can then land on my website to enter their names and email address. I can then do email marketing.
I also plan to use Pinterest to help build my list. I am not paid to advertise or share content, I only get paid if people make a purchase through my link.
1. Do I need to have a license in order to do this legally in Abu Dhabi, UAE? I am aware that several licenses exist, which license is suitable for this activity?
2. Is a privacy policy adhering to international data protection laws like GDPR sufficient to protect me from lawsuits in the UAE, or does the UAE have specific requirements? If I get a template from a lawyer that is not in the UAE, is that sufficient?
3. Do you think the free privacy policy templates available online are good to avoid lawsuits for the activity I intend to do?
Thank you very much!

Global procreative tourism marketplace: Legality for Dubai-based companies

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
Can a Dubai-based company legally offer a marketplace (website) for procreative tourism, such as in vitro fertilization and surrogacy, where fertility clinics and agencies from different countries can list themselves for visitors from around the world?
The Dubai company would connect patients and clinics globally and charge a fee from clinics, either per lead or as a revenue share.

View allCan the landlord request the tenant to pay the chiller in the middle of the contract? 0
I live in Dubai Marina, and the landlord claimed that according to new Dubai Land regulations, the chiller now has to be paid by the person occupying the apartment.
Even though my contract says that the landlord should pay the chiller, they want to implement this mid-contract.
I understand that the terms upon renewal will be renegotiated, but on what grounds can they implement the change mid-contract?
Does a new DLD regulation precede a tenancy contract? Moreover, I am receiving a disconnection notice from the chiller company due to non-payment.
What can I do if this happens?
Please advise.

Cleaner's resignation with 30-day notice in incomplete contract 0
Hello,
Good afternoon!
My friend works as a cleaner for a cleaning company and she now wants to resign with a 30-day notice. However, she has not completed the two-year contract and has only served for 16 months.
Additionally, she has not taken any vacation leave. The sad part is that when she signed the offer letter, she did not receive a copy of it and only signed it.
I would be very grateful if you could let me know if she would have to pay or if her boss has the right to not accept the resignation if the notice period mentioned in the offer letter is more than a month.
Her boss has not provided her with any kind of proof that she can use in the future if anything happens.

The ownership of a code of a web application 0
Hello,
I represent a tech-based marketplace company registered in a Freezone, in the UAE.
This is in regards to the UAE's law regarding the ownership of code when there is no clause mentioned in the agreement. One of our products (web application) is being developed by an agency in the UAE.
While we do have agreements in place, there is no clause regarding ownership of code. In the situation mentioned above, I've heard that the ownership of code either goes to the author or the agency that employed the author. Is this true?
Your assistance and help would be of great help.
