If you lease a premises, irrespective of your circumstances which I sympathize with, you are bound to pay the rent.

You will have two issues to deal with viz.

Notice to vacate. If you fail to pay the outstanding rent, then the court will ask you to vacate the premises.

Keep in mind upon filing the execution case, without warning the lock will be changed (if you are away) and you will be called the next day to collect your belongings.

For the cheque case, you can pay a fine and therefore not imprisoned. But the case is not over with that.

A civil case will be filed to recover the claim amount unless the landlord is very kind and benevolent.
