Q: Dear Sir,
I am a UAE resident and I work in a Dubi based company in Deira Dubai. I went on vacation on the 1st of March and supposed to come back to Dubai on 25th of March.
Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, my company asked me to stay in my home country up to 30th June on unpaid leave. Today my manager called me and asked me to send a resignation letter.
I wanted to share with you that I was a good performer in my company and was achieving my targets. Is it legal to ask a resignation while I am on leave and they did not initiate termination but asking me to resign?
Please also advise, is the company responsible to pay me full gratuity? And if the company terminates me, then am I also eligible to get 3 months salary as compensation?
Please help me to cope with this situation.

Can I use my vacation for the notice period upon resignation?

Q: If the contract says 60 days notice period, and if one resigns just before the summer holidays (i.e. approx 50 days) will this count as notice period?
This is about a teacher in a Dubai-based school.

Consequences of resignation in a limited employment contract

Q: Hello,
I am here on a limited contract of 2 years and I'm not interested in continuing my employment.
My contract states that I'm liable for any "legal fees" for terminating the contract early.
I'm still within my three-month probation period and I am wondering about a couple of things.
Is there a penalty for leaving early?
Do I have to give the standard 30-day notice?
Am I liable for my own airfare home?
Any other information you think would be helpful would also be greatly appreciated.

Q: Hello!
Good day!
I just want to ask some questions regarding my employer. I resigned from my job as a security guard here in Sharjah. My company is based in Abudhabi Mussafah workers village.
My last day of duty is this coming June 11, 2021. I finished 955 days without taking any vacation from the company.
When I asked about my plane ticket in HR, they refused to give it. According to them, due to my resignation, they are not allowed to provide a ticket at their expense as per the company rule. Is it right?

Can I claim my annual ticket allowance beside the repatriation ticket when I resign?

Q: As per our company policy, all employees are entitled to a two-way ticket every year. I have claimed all my tickets till 2021.
Now I am eligible for my 2022 ticket but I have resigned and my last working day will be 25th December.
I am definitely getting a ticket to my home country but am I entitled to a two-way ticket since I am also eligible for the 2022 ticket claim?
Please advise.

Q: Sir, I want to go to my home country for treatment. They can give me annual vacation but they told me that you need to buy a ticket.
But I can not afford a ticket because I have some problem in my home county. I spent so many money here but my problem is still not solved.

Our internal contract has a notice period of 3 months from both parties. In the new labor implementation, only one month's notice is required for less than 5 years of service.
Please advise if we can follow our internal contract since the position is very curtailed and the organization will not be able to replace the position within one month.

Can you please clarify the correct annual leave salary rules?
Some say it is basic + HRA for the month you will take off, others say it is full salary, and somewhere I read it is basic + HRA (annual leave salary) plus the normal salary you get.

My employer has not paid my salary for 8.5 months. I went to the labor court, and was referred to Dubai Courts.
The judgment came and I did not receive the full claim including salaries and 3 months' compensation.
