The obligations of an employee for resignation during the probation period
Good afternoon,
I have been working in a hydraulic shop as a hydraulic hose technician. I've left the job during the probation period. My contract is unlimited.
For leaving the job during the probation period:
- Shall I pay the proportional costs of the visa?
- Would I face a ban by MOHRE/Employer?
- Shall I communicate 30 days before leaving?
- Should It be as a mutual agreement between both parties, or I can quit the job without the consent of the employer?

Dear questioner,
Under no circumstances, an employee should bear the cost of his visa and/or medical insurance.
You can receive a ban only if you are not complying with the labour law or provisions of your employment contract terms.
The notice period should be stated in your employment contract. It can vary from 30 days to 90 days.
Ideally would be to be able to get your employer's agreement. However, if he will not agree, you can still resign as long as you comply with the procedures, such as your notice period... etc.
Your resignation is not conditioned by your employer' approval.
I recommend you check with a professional before deciding to leave to ensure you comply with all the rules as per the UAE Labor Law and your employment contract as well.
