Calculation of weekend days and holidays in the annual leave

Our company is off on Friday and Saturday. I wanted to take annual leave on Thursday and I will rejoin on Sunday. How many annual leave days should be deducted from me?

Another scenario, if I went for annual leave from Thursday until Sunday and will rejoin on Monday, how many days should be deducted from me?

Dear Questioner,

It depends upon what exactly your company is offering as annual leave - calender days or working days.

As per the UAE labour law annual leave is calculated as per calendar days. In that case, weekends will be counted.
