Questions & Answers
How can hiring a lawyer help in a divorce case?
Greeting,
I'm planning to hire a lawyer to offer me writing a legal note that I can submit to the court myself just to reduce the legal fees - with more legal advice to deal with the divorce case.
Based on your experience, please advise:
- Is there a fundamental difference - in the case of potential end results/judgment - between hiring a lawyer for full services or just ask to write a legal note?
- What would be your advice or criteria for a client in selecting the right lawyer in such a case?
If you offer such a service, please contact me with a glimpse of your service, charges, and basic terms.
Note: the case is in Dubai courts - personal status court (Muslim Affairs). You can write to me in both Arabic or English.
Thanks!
Dear Questioner,
Further to your inquiry and following your abovementioned questions, please check our advice and answers as follows:
1- There is a fundamental difference between hiring a lawyer for full services and just ask to write a legal note.
This is due to the fact that the first option will cost you more fees than the second one. Moreover, the first option you have to pay lump-sum for the full services upfront, but the second option no, as it will cost you low fees per memorandum/legal note.
Additionally, the first option will comfort you as the lawyer will attend the whole hearings himself, but for the second option, you will be the one who attends the hearings.
2- The criteria for the client in selecting a lawyer is that he/she should be aware whether the lawyer has practiced cases which are similar to yours or not, if the lawyer won judgments in the same field or not, and finally further to your case, the lawyer should be aware and has acknowledgement of Sharia law (Quraan and Sunnah legislations).
Hope my answers clarified your inquiries. Should you have any further inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email.
Thanks!
