How to claim the security deposit back from the landlord
Hello Madam,
I hope you're doing fine.
I am unable to get a security deposit of AED 2000 from the landlord.
The current real estate agent claims that the landlord has some legal dispute with the former real estate company and I can't get my refund.
Can you kindly guide me on the above?

Dear Questioner,
I assume that the rented property is in Dubai and you have returned the property in its original condition.
Pursuant to your query, to claim back the security deposit, you may approach the Rental Dispute Centre (RDC) and file a complaint against your landlord stating that the real estate company is holding your security deposit without providing valid justification.
You shall submit all the mail correspondences (emails and/or letters) with the real estate company related to your claim on the security deposit.
Please note that the fee is 3.5% of the annual rent of the property and must be at least AED 500 and not exceed AED 20,000 along with an admin fee of AED 110.
