Application of article 120 in case of a mistake by the employee
Q: Hi. I am working as an engineer. I am preparing BOQ for the project and I will forward it to my manager for verification and he will make a final quotation and send it to the customer. Unfortunately, I did a small mistake while making the BOQ in the Tender Stage Project and forwarded it to my manager for further procedure. He has not noticed also the mistake. After a couple of months, the main contractor called for a final discussion. That time we cross-checked the BOQ again and I found this mistake. I informed my manager that we missed this quantity which will increase the project cost, so we won't be able to meet their target. He shouted at me because we lost this project. I will take the necessary action. I just want to know if Article 120 is applicable to this issue. Please advise.

Holding the gratuity of an employee for a penalty incurred on the company
Q: Thanks. Just one more doubt. My company has incurred some penalty for an order executed 3 years back, and now, when they received the payment they received after deduction of penalty. I was only a part of the delivery but the one in charge overall was our project manager who was taking care of that project and he was in charge of getting the delivery date extended from the customer. Since our project manager is not there in the company as he left the company, and I was under the supervision of the project team only taking care delivery, can the company subject me to penalty and hold my gratuity?

Employer's right to deduct damages from the employee's EOSB in case of mistakes
Q: Hello, I'm structural detailer/draftsman. My employer terminated me last Nov. 30, 2020, due to some mistakes of work. But now more than 1 month already he doesn't want to cancel my visa and he told me to go back to my home country without cancelling my visa. Otherwise, he will file a case against me due to my mistakes and he wants to deduct the cost of rework and material scrapped from my settlement (AED 15k of total cost) due to my mistakes. Hope you can help me and give advice on what to do in this situation. Thank you in advance.

A bank mistakenly transferred money to my account. I cannot repay the full amount. What to do?
Q: Hi, I have a payment issue with the bank. They claim that I received double payments multiple times due to a technical error on their side. As a result, I believe there might be a travel ban on me, though I’m not sure. Can you help? I’ve used some of the money, but I can’t repay them fully. How can I vacate my tenant if the rental agreement ends before the eviction notice deadline?
My Dubai tenant's rental agreement is ending by the end of September 2024 and the completion of 12 months of legally served Eviction Notice is the end of December 2024. I have two questions: (a) Can I send a rent increase notice 3 months before as the rent has increased as per the RERA rent calculator? How can I reach a settlement with the bank for a mortgage of a jointly owned property?
I have a jointly owned property in Abu Dhabi. The mortgage was defaulted on as I had to leave the property with my children following an assault by my ex-husband. He left the country in 2018 and never paid the mortgage. As I was in the country, the bank filed a criminal case against me, and I was sentenced to 3 years. I won the appeal against the bank and then filed another criminal case a few months later in Dubai. Again, I won and paid a fine. In 2019, the bank started a civil case against me and my ex-husband to have the property repossessed. However, at the time of the purchase of the property, there were no Title Deeds, the bank requires this. I cannot give them the Title Deeds to sell the property and pay back the amount owed to them as my ex-husband refuses to provide a POA. The bank has filed another criminal case against me only for our jointly owned property. I wish to resolve this and pay off the bank and receive any money left from the sale. How can I resolve this issue of the Title Deeds?

Can a real estate agency hold a percentage of a property sale until transfer is done?
A real estate agency has signed an MOU stating that a 10% security deposit from the buyer and the seller will be kept in the real estate agency and will be released upon transferring the property. The transfer of the property was blocked due to the court order. According to my colleagues, the real estate agency is not a trustee and they are not allowed to have taken my security check in the first place, is this correct?
