Knowing the reason of a police case upon closing credit card

I already closed my credit card from Dubai First 2 months ago. Now, they cannot issue me a clearance letter because they said I have an open police case according to the person I talked to on their hotline.

Why do I have an open police case if my account is already paid and closed 2 months ago?

My proof is only the receipt of the payment. That's why I was asking for the clearance letter from them.

The person from their call centre told me when she checked the system that my account is indeed closed since January 2018, but she could not give me answers why I still have an open police case.

Dear Questioner,

We can check at the police station the status of your case/complaint.

As mentioned, if you are not going personally to check the file (which is not recommended), you should provide a Power of Attorney to a person, to do this on your behalf.

If you would like us to go and check on your behalf, please let me know and I can provide you with a template of the POA and explain you the procedure to get it notarized and attested.
