Visa status of the wife after divorcing her sponsoring husband

What would be my visa status after divorcing my husband in Dubai?

Since I am on his visa he says that I can continue to remain on his visa, but he got me into this country with our marriage certificate from India under the Special Marriage Act.

After issuing a divorce certificate, he will not be your husband and legally he can’t sponsor you but practically immigration department will not ask for anything.

So you can continue if your husband has no objection to it, but you can't renew it.

You can make claim on it according to your country law, you have many rights according to the Special Marriage Act. I will prefer you claim all in India.

When I went to the counsellor office with my husband since we’re doing the divorce amicably, the counsellor in Garhoud asked me to sign documents that were written in Arabic.

I refused to sign as I did not understand what was mentioned in them. What do you recommend I do?

Also, in July and August, I will be travelling outside of Dubai for two months.

So when I return will I be allowed back into the country? Since by then my marriage status will be divorced, however, I would still be on my ex-husband’s visa.

The counsellor may be asked you to sign some other paper not related to visa, after counsellor NOC your case will proceed to the court and the court will decide about divorce and custody.

So that paper signature is not related to visa.
