Filing for divorce in the UAE if marriage was outside
I married in Poland, my wife is Polish and I am English. For the past 3 years, she has refused to live here and now has no residency visa.
We have a 13-year-old son, and she is pregnant. She organized this by IVF treatment which was from a spermicide sample of mine without consultation.
I am considering whether I can divorce in the UAE where I am a resident, and what would be the financial implications of doing so.

Dear Sir,
I hope you are fine.
Further to your query, please be informed that you can file for divorce in the UAE and the procedure takes 1-2 months if there is no dispute.
Before filing for divorce, we suggest you consider your rights to child custody and other ancillary rights.

Dear Questioner,
Yes, you can file a divorce against her in the UAE.
First, we should know more details about this case and if you would like to get the custody of your kids or not.
In case that you would like to file just the divorce case, the first step is to attest your marriage certificate (in the UAE Embassy from your home country. Once attested you should translate it into Arabic and follow the attestation process in the UAE).
In case that you would like to file a case also for the custody of your kids, you should attest their birth certificate (in the UAE Embassy from their home country. Once attested you should translate it into Arabic and follow the attestation process in the UAE).
Once all documents are prepared, you should file the case in Dubai Courts. If you need a lawyer to do this on your behalf, you should provide a POA.
If you would like us to help you with this, we invite you to our office for a meeting where we can discuss all details and also the financial implication.
I am looking forward to your reply.
Best regards,
Raluca Gatina.
