Q: Hi,
My Name is K. and I've been working in a company registered in Sharjah since last 2 years. Recently, our employer has set a trend of delaying salaries and now it’s been 6 months accumulated due.
However, the employer releases one salary whenever the client is paying the company. In this due course, my visa is overdue for renewal. I have notified the employer and he promised to renew the visa in a week.
What should a person do if the visa renewal process on a committed day is not begun and the 6 months' salary is still overdue?
Who will be liable to pay fines for the delay in renewal if occurred?
If the WPS is not regularized by the employer, will the visa get renewed?
This is getting really more stressful day by day since there is no proper roadmap of paying the overdue by the employer.
Awaiting your guidance and information
Regards,
K.

Duration of a labour case for the non-payment of salaries
25
Q: Asalamu Alaikum.
I filed a case on my company in Tasheel Ras Al Khor. My company didn't give me the first two months' salary and they set me in a room, then I filed a case.
I claim a total amount of AED 14000 with a settlement and everything. I want to know how much time it will take my complete case. Please tell me.
There are 7 months remaining in my visa, and I filed a case in Dubai Court on 25 February 2019.

Filing a labour case for the non-payment of salaries and gratuity

Q: My wife and her colleague's claims against their employer are not given despite begging them repeatedly. There are like about 3 1/2 months of pending salary plus gratuity.
They are now about to move to a new employer. How long will the process be if they finally activate a case against them? Will the process be shortened if we hire a lawyer?

Am I liable to pay the rent and fines after selling the shop if there is no contract with the landlord?

0
Q: The landlord has filed a case against me for not paying the shop rent. I notified the owner when I sold the shop in Feb 2022 and the POA was given to the new owner but he took my EID in the contract for renewal.
He said it was just for one month and after that, the new owner would cancel the contract because he didn’t have EID for renewal. I requested NOC several times from the landlord but they didn’t give it to me.
My contract in which he took my signature expired on 16 March 23 and all the cheques were paid, and the payment was done by a third party too till Sept 24. From March 23 till Sept 24, I didn’t make any agreement with the landlord.
Also, the trade license expired in Dec 2023 and was not renewed. I have no idea how the landlord collected cheques till Sept 2024 without a contract, and he doesn’t have any copy of the contract with him.
Now he filed a case against me with old documents instead of the new owner's name in the case. It is sold to 3 people after me.
My question here is, am I liable to pay the rent and fines?

How can we claim our money back if the cheque we received have bounced for insufficient funds? 0
We received a cheque which has now bounced. We have tried for over a month and a half now to get a new cheque from the person, and every day he says the next day.
We need the money now. We have been to the police station, and they said they can not do anything as the reason the cheque bounced is "Insufficient funds."
We have been to Al Barsha - Dubai Courts, and they said there is nothing they can do about it.
We are not sure what we can do. We need the money asap to pay our kids' school fees, let alone all the interest we have lost.

Who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer? 0
Hello
I joined my new company on February 26, 2025. Upon joining the new company, I asked HR if it was free to join the company, and she said yes.
After working with them for 1 month, I experienced a salary delay, and I had to go to the office to ask why there was a delay in my salary.
That is when the HR told me she deducted my whole salary to recover the transfer fee.
Now my question is, who is supposed to pay for the transfer fee, the employee or the employer?

Can my old employer sue me for a non-compete clause that's only in the offer letter? 0
Hi,
I was previously working in a company based in DMCC and have now moved to Hamriyah Free Zone. In my DMCC contract, there was no mention of a non-compete, but my offer letter includes one.
Now, in my new organization, if my old customers start to contact me for business, am I liable for any legal action from my previous employer?

Disputing tenant's refusal to accept old landlord's rent increase notice 3
Hi,
We recently bought a villa in Dubai. We are looking for an advocate for legal advice.
Even though the old owner gave the tenant a 90-day notice about the new rent, the tenant is not agreeing to the notice because it didn't come from us.
Since the renewal is in October and we bought the property in September, we don't have 90 days to notify the tenant of the new rent.
The tenant agreed to the new rent in an email with the old owner 90 days ago. Can we dispute this?

We had an accident. Can I claim the treatment costs paid to hospital from the insurance? 1
My family and I had an accident. The incident occurred the very next day of their arrival in the UAE on a residence entry permit and their visa//health insurance was still in process.
With gods grace, everyone was discharged from the hospital on the 3rd day after many tests and keeping us under observation. We were slapped with a hefty bill as my family was not holding any health insurance.
What are the chances that I could claim the medical expenses through the vehicle insurance, as it covers co-passengers as well?

What can I do if a company hired me then changed their mind? 0
I am working in a company and their management is the worst. They made an interview in India and called me.
After calling me here, they again made interviews and made me work for 1 month. And now, they're telling me I am not capable of work and they are mentally torturing me.
I have given them 1.5 lack in office in India and here they are not paying me any salary. I am going into depression as I am not getting any solutions.
The only solution coming to my mind is a suicide, I don’t have any other options left. I have taken money in interest and people are daily coming to my house for money.
Please guide me in a proper way on what I can do.
