Writing a will in the UAE by married Muslim expats

Hi,

We are Jordanian married couple living in Dubai, and we have 2 queries:

1. As we don't have kids, we would like to write a will. How can we do that and what are the procedures? (P.S: We are Muslims)

2. My husband bought a property in Jordan and he would like to put it under my name, as it is challenging to travel to Jordan considering the situation, can we do the procedure here in Dubai?

Thanks!

Dear ma'am,

Since you are an ex-pat couple living in Dubai, it is a wise decision to get a will in place for you and your family's future.

To draft a will, we will be required to provide details about all of your assets and liabilities that you and your husband currently have.

There are two forms for registration of one's will: DIFC Wills and Probate Registry (WPR) and Dubai Courts.

Now there is a difference between both and I can only advise if I have accurate information.

As for your second question, there is a possibility but we can advise only after getting the full details.

Please feel free to contact us via email!
