The liability of posting artificial reviews as a digital marketing service

Hi there,

We're based in Sharjah Media City Free Zone. Our question is:

We are selling a digital marketing service. Our clients love it. We are writing artificial reviews and posting them as genuine user reviews. Some sellers have been sued in the USA. I wonder what the UAE legislation on this part is, and would we face the same risk?

Thank you!

As per your query, please note that, as they are filing cases in the USA, probably the jurisdiction of your work will not be covered unless you have done any work for clients in the USA.

For UAE jurisdiction, in order to sue and place lawsuits against you, there should be any evidence, documents, or contracts between you and the client.

In the future, in order to work for any such client, please make sure that your liability is not there in legal documentation in order to do such kind of work, since as a part of the service, you do your job as requested.
