Filing a divorce case in the UAE while the same case is filed abroad
5
Q: Hi,
If I have already filed for divorce in a foreign jurisdiction, the papers have been served and my spouse has responded, is it then possible for them to try and file for divorce in the UAE?
Additionally, they are seeking a "settlement agreement" in the UAE, which I have declined as the matter is already before the court overseas? Is this possible?

Mutual consent divorce for British ex-pats in Dubai while the wife changes her mind
2
Q: My wife & I agreed to a mutual consent divorce. We both are British ex-pats in Dubai. She’s now changed her mind & is attempting to blackmail me, citing she’s been stalking & screenshotting my female friend’s social media, taken evidence from my phone and my diary.
She says that if I do not sign over everything I own, she will go to the police claiming adultery.
Is it true that she has broken the privacy law here?
We were separated for more than 12 months now. Is it illegal for me to begin dating again?
Can she continue refusing divorce? I’ve offered her all she is due under UK law but she wants 100% of all assets.
We have no kids, and we are both employed. We tried everything. This is almost 2 years now.

Q: Good morning everyone,
I am an Indian Muslim married to a Muslim under the UAE Sharia law, with no children.
I've written divorce (talaq) to my wife, also verbally with 2 witnesses. I made a marital case and received a "no-objection letter" for:
قسم التوجيه والإصلاح الأسري في محاكم دبي بأنه نظر النزاع في الملف المذكور أعلاه، وقد تعذر الصلح بينهما في المسائل التالية:
١ - تثبيت الطلاق
What do I do next to complete the talaq and complete the settlement?

If a husband skips the online reconciliation session, does it delay the divorce?

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I requested divorce (we are Muslims) and I have the reconciliation session online in the first week of January. However, please, if someone can help me with this doubt:
What happens if my husband doesn't attend the online session? Will it take more time to get the divorce?
Thanks!

When should I share evidence in divorce proceedings?

2
Q: Salam,
Please, I would appreciate it if someone could answer me here about what happens if my husband doesn't attend the reconciliation session or any online hearing.
The process for my divorce request will start, but I don't think he will attend, and he is outside the UAE.
I can't afford a lawyer now, but I don't know at what moment I will need to show all the WhatsApp messages and evidence.
Is there a specific day when I will need to send it by email?
Thanks!

Is the Final Judgment Certificate sufficient as a divorce certificate?

1
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I have already received a “No Appeal Certificate” for the divorce after the cassation expired, and I subsequently applied for and received the “Final Judgment Certificate” from the Abu Dhabi court.
Do I still need to apply for a Divorce Certificate, or does the Final Judgment Certificate itself serve as the Divorce Certificate?

After a post-divorce verdict, what happens next in the appeal session?

1
Q: Hello,
I recently concluded a post-divorce financial case, and a verdict was issued. However, the defendant has appealed, and the appeal session is scheduled for a few days from now.
What should I expect during this session?
Also, is there any possibility for the defendant to appeal again after this?

Disputing tenant's refusal to accept old landlord's rent increase notice 3
Hi,
We recently bought a villa in Dubai. We are looking for an advocate for legal advice.
Even though the old owner gave the tenant a 90-day notice about the new rent, the tenant is not agreeing to the notice because it didn't come from us.
Since the renewal is in October and we bought the property in September, we don't have 90 days to notify the tenant of the new rent.
The tenant agreed to the new rent in an email with the old owner 90 days ago. Can we dispute this?

We had an accident. Can I claim the treatment costs paid to hospital from the insurance? 1
My family and I had an accident. The incident occurred the very next day of their arrival in the UAE on a residence entry permit and their visa//health insurance was still in process.
With gods grace, everyone was discharged from the hospital on the 3rd day after many tests and keeping us under observation. We were slapped with a hefty bill as my family was not holding any health insurance.
What are the chances that I could claim the medical expenses through the vehicle insurance, as it covers co-passengers as well?

What can I do if a company hired me then changed their mind? 0
I am working in a company and their management is the worst. They made an interview in India and called me.
After calling me here, they again made interviews and made me work for 1 month. And now, they're telling me I am not capable of work and they are mentally torturing me.
I have given them 1.5 lack in office in India and here they are not paying me any salary. I am going into depression as I am not getting any solutions.
The only solution coming to my mind is a suicide, I don’t have any other options left. I have taken money in interest and people are daily coming to my house for money.
Please guide me in a proper way on what I can do.

What happens to the company and its operations if one of the partners is deceased? 0
X Real Estate LLC is a newly formed LLC company in the mainland (DED) with 10 partners, 9 of them Indians and one Pakistani.
As per the new provisions, the company is owned 100 % by expatriate residents. The company’s business is buying and selling real estate in the UAE.
Query:
What happens to the company and other partners, when one partner dies with or without a will?
Can the remaining partners continue to operate the bank account or it will be frozen?
Are the operations of the company frozen? Can the remaining partners carry on the business as usual, buy, rent, and sell the properties?
Can the partners pay the share of the deceased partner to his legal heirs and distribute his share among the remaining partners?
Will this affect the other businesses of the remaining 9 partners in any way?
