Claiming refund from developer after cancellation of project
This is regarding an under-cancellation real estate project in Dubai (started in 2017 & was supposed to be handed over in Dec 2019 but progress did not move beyond 10%).
I made my cheques payable to the company rather than to escrow account. AED 881K was already cashed out of 1,460K (+ 58,400K for Dubai Land Dept).
What are the options available for recovering my money?
Thanks
Please send us a copy of the SPA and a document from the Land Department where it is stating that this project is under cancellation.
We will check and advise you on the necessary steps for the refund of money.

Dear questioner,
As the project is already cancelled therefore you can ask for a full refund of your invested amount.
Further, we need to review the mutually signed SPA in order to assist further.
If need be, kindly contact us by phone for a detailed discussion or write to us at our email for further assistance.

If the project is cancelled, we can go for refunding the amount you paid also we can ask for compensation.
Please contact us on the phone or email.

Hello,
The project is under cancellation, hence first of all the real estate shall be under liquidation and then you can make an application to the real estate committee with all your documents to apply for a refund.
As a lawyer’s office, we can make the process but first, we have to enquire about the project cancellation stage.
