Claiming passport back from police after a car accident

Dear,

Last October, my husband had a car accident, and after a few months, the police took his passport and still has not given it back.

Every time upon visiting them they suggest a new time or a new phone number for follow up. His visa has been expired and the car registration (Mulkiya) would be expired very soon.

What can be done to get the passport back?

Kindly please help with advice.

Regards

The accident is a criminal offence and your husband's passport is in police custody as security, therefore, whenever police or court will summon, he requires to appear in front of them.

Generally, accident cases don't take this much time. It's better to check the case status with traffic public prosecution and request to transfer the case to court so he can get a decision.

He can file an application for replacing the passport and he can get his passport after the final judgment (completion of the sentence).
