Requirements for starting a business while being employed

Hi,

I'm currently trying to create a company in the mainland while I'm being employed by a company which sponsored my residency.

I've been only been in the UAE for 3 months.

Is there a minimum period I need to spend in the country before I'm allowed to start a business?

Thank you

No, there is no limitation, but you need to take approval from your current sponsor.

Hello,

I trust you are well.

Whilst there's no minimum length of residence criteria, there are other factors that must be considered.

On the mainland, you are required to obtain the services of a local sponsor who will own 51% shares of the company.

Alternatively, in a free zone, you will enjoy 100% ownership and greater flexibility.

Either way, whether you choose to set up on mainland or free zone, we can assist and guide you through the process.

Dear Questioner,

Pursuant to the query, there is no such limitation but you have to see many factors in starting the business such as:-

1. NOC from your employer

2. You need the help of a local sponsor.

Thank You.
