Attesting a Nikah contract issued in France without being recognized there
My husband and I are French nationals. We had a nikah contract in France, which is not recognized as a legal marriage in France because French law doesn't recognize religious marriages.
Now we plan to move to the UAE, will the UAE court recognize our nikah contract as a legal marriage?

The UAE will never recognize that. But you have two choices either you make a visit to the UAE embassy in France asking about the ability of this Nikah inside the UAE or you can come, and register one case here to recognize the Nikah.

You would need to file a case here in the UAE, to prove the marriage and also, ask the court to apply for the Sharia law.

Generally speaking, you have three options:
1) you can get the nikah contract fully attested and legalized - this may not be possible since the French authorities may not recognize this document officially.
2) you can get a civil marriage and attest it, or
3) since you are Muslim, you can get married in Dubai Courts when you arrive.
Generally, the most efficient option would be option 2, where you would get the marriage certificate that reflects your initial marriage date. However, this ultimately depends on the French authorities.
