Staying in the UAE after visa cancellation till ending the school year

Good morning,

I've been dismissed effective the 24th of April 2020.

After working visa cancellation, I have been told that I have to leave UAE within the following 30 days, which means before the 24th of May.

My little kids are attending school, year 1 and year 6, and I would like them to continue in the same school; ending the first week of July.

Is there a way for me and my family to remain in the UAE at least till that date?

What should I do in that case?

Dear questioner,

In case you find another job, then it will be possible for you to stay longer in the UAE.

Another option for you is to apply for a freelance visa or to establish a company, and make your own visa.

However, if you don't want to start a business in the UAE, you have to contact tourist agencies and see if they can help and apply for a tourist visa.

Thanks for your effort Raluca, but I'm not in the condition to start another job or to establish a company.

I've been told that a new rule is in effect to extend the period you can stay in the UAE after your visa is canceled to permit the search of a different job;

Or a different option, you can pay a fine for each day you stay in UAE after the grace period of thirty days.

I was wondering if a student visa can be claimed for my kids or if details are available about grace period extension to permit the search for a new job.

Dear questioner,

You can start searching for a new job in the virtual jobs system as per new regulation no. 279 of 2020 issued on 26/3/2020 or you may set up a new company to have your own permission.
