Dear Questioner,

The opposite party can put a civil case and a criminal case against you.

He can recover the money by putting a civil case against you and also file a criminal case for the bounced cheque.

If you need any assistance, you can contact us via phone or email.

Thank You!

Hi,

Check bounce is a criminal offense in the UAE and nothing changed in this law. Only for 200,000 AED amount in Dubai, the public prosecutor has the right to fine the accused.

In your matter, if a criminal case is filed, then, until you settle with the complainant or if there is a judgment, you need to open the case to challenge the judgment or accept it.

The civil case is different. It can be filed for the recovery of money against the defaulter.

Therefore, keep in mind that they are separate things and, in cheque bounce matter, both can be filed.

Please contact me for further assistance.
