Q: Greetings,
I was terminated by my company in May 2016 because they were cutting the number of staff. I had a credit card with 10,000AED that I used fully. I was unable to reach the bank and so far I have never received any call or email from them.
I was struggling with unemployment all this time and couldn’t pay my debt, I have no intentions to not pay because it’s Haram/prohibited in my religion. Recently, I got a job offer in another GCC country and I want to go there and pay my debt using my salary.
My question is, will I be arrested in that GCC country at the airport?
I don’t know if a police case has been filed against me or not, what I know is I am morally obligated to pay my debt and the only way I can do it is if I start that new job, my family is poor and my country has no job opportunities.
I’m afraid to be detained and sent to the UAE, this will not solve the issue, nobody will be able to pay for me and jail won’t solve the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Regards.

Can I work in other GCC countries if I have unpaid bank debts in the UAE?
104
Q: Greeting!
My name is Fazil Hussain,
I was working in the UAE for past 5 years, I have a personal loan of 80,000 from ADCB Bank in Dubai. I never missed a single EMI to the bank and had good records. But I lost my job, so had to come back to India.
I wanted to go back to Dubai and search for a job but the bank said they have blocked my visa and I cannot get a job there. I replied to the bank by email that if they block my visa then how can I find a job in Dubai and how should I pay my outstanding balance on the personal loan. I can pay my loan only if I get a job in the UAE...
Please help me with your advice, I can pay the outstanding only if I work in GCC. I can't afford to pay from India. I want to pay my outstanding and clear it.
Can the bank give me NOC to work in Dubai and pay their loan? And I want to know, is it possible if I go to Saudi Arabia and do a job and pay my installments to the bank in the UAE?

Traveling to a GCC country while there is an unpaid loan in the UAE
24
Q: Hello Ma'am,
My question is regarding the GCC travel ban. After working for 8 years in Dubai, I lost my job in 2018 and had to subsequently leave Dubai and while doing so I still had an unpaid loan of 160K AED + 50k AED credit card debt.
I have not been able to pay anything back to the banks since June of 2018. Now in Oct 2019, I am receiving a job offer letter from a Kuwaiti company and will be positioned in Kuwait.
I would like to know if I will be able to get an employment visa from Kuwait and land safely in Kuwait. I am willing to settle down all my debts with all the banks upon getting a job there.

Traveling to a GCC country while a loan is outstanding in the UAE

Q: Dear sir/madam,
Can I be allowed to leave the UAE if I have unpaid loan debt?
I have an outstanding loan to be paid to my bank (never miss a payment) and I am considering changing my job and moving to Saudi Arabia. I will be paying the outstanding balance from there.
Are there any obstacles to relocating to another GCC country?

How to remove the cases and travel ban I have in the UAE to avoid problems in GCC?
1
Q: Hello Mr. Mohammad,
Hope you are well.
I owe a debt in the UAE but I have to visit Saudi Arabia and Bahrain for work.
I have read somewhere that it is possible to remove the cases, without repaying the debt (because I don't have the money to repay).
Is this true?
What would be the process and how long would the process take?
Thank you for your time in advance.

I left the UAE with a partly unpaid load and negotiations failed with the collectors. Can I travel to GCC?
0
Q: Hello,
I have had an outstanding loan in the UAE since 2016 and left the UAE. I was in negotiations with several debt collectors.
I paid a part back but there is still a part open. I am willing to pay the loan back or let's say a waived part of it.
But the way of communication with the debt collectors was very unprofessional.
From now on, I have to fly to some GCC countries like Saudi Arabia or Qatar.
Is there any problem or better not to do it as long the case is open?

Can I travel to work in Qatar if I left the UAE with pending loans and credit card?

5
Q: I have worked in the UAE, but unfortunately I lost my job after the company forced me to resign. This was last 2017.
Due to job loss, I was unable to pay my bank loans and credit card. Banks still keep sending me emails about unpaid loans and credit card.
I now need to travel to qatar due to work, what are the consequences if there is a travel ban and a civil case is raised in the UAE or GCC countries?
Can I enter Qatar?
Would I be arrested?
Am I at risk and should not take the job?
What are my options?
Please advise!
Thanks!

The management of individual financial affairs is crucial and all the actions must be weighed down while committing to any financial liability. Whether it's job loss that may have lead to financial failure or the opposite, one must be aware of the personal liability which will not diminish by paying fines for cheque bounce cases. There are two major types of liabilities, criminal liability and civil liability. Each has its own significance, hence, must be dealt with accordingly.

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 0
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?

I currently live in Sharjah and have a UAE residence visa but I am not a UAE or GCC national. I want to open an online shop (Etsy or Shopify) to sell handmade items, such as crocheted goods, bookmarks, greeting cards, etc.
Do I need a license to open an Etsy shop?
If so, which license do I need to sell my products online, including UAE and worldwide?
How much would it cost me?

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 0
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?

Reducing the salary of an employee before termination 0
Hello Nicole,
Greetings!
I have been working in a private company in Dubai for the last 13 years under an unlimited contract. Recently, they have made my position redundant.
I am now serving 3 months notice period as per the labour contract (2 months already served, I am now in 3rd and last month).
My employer has put me on forced paid leave to adjust my notice period against leave days balance. I need some clarification per below, please.
1. The employer is paying me a full salary for a notice period of 3 months. However based on the recent announcement from the Ministry of Labor (for Private Co. employees), can my employer reduce my salary temporarily/permanently in this last month of notice period?
2. If the answer to question 1 is YES, how will it impact the calculation of my end of service benefits like gratuity or leave balance encashment? Will it be recalculated based on the revised (reduced) salary?
3. Am I eligible to claim any other Termination/redundancy pay apart from gratuity and leave balance encashment?

Getting the amount of a bounced cheque after car buying fraud 0
I sold my car and the buyer gave me a cheque. The cheque bounced because the account is closed. He is doing this as a regular business.
I have already filed a complaint to the police station and I'm waiting for the judgment from the court. Maybe he will get the fine only.
How can I get my money?
Which case should I file: a civil case or a car buying fraud case?
He may not have anything under his name. If a civil case is filed against him, he knows how to avoid this case .This person has more than 14 cases. Recently, he got out of jail. The issuer of the cheque is a local Emirati guy.
