Q: How I can get my cancellation and my dues in my previous company, as I will get a job offer in a company but they need the cancellation paper?
I filed a complaint at the Ministry of Labour and my 1st appointment will be tomorrow. I need my cancellation urgently; please advise.
My company is asking for my passport before my cancellation and they said they will not return my passport unless I have a new visa from another company (my passport is with me).
Also, I need my salary and they said they don't know when they will release it. Please advise, what is the best thing I can do for this issue?

Cancellation of visa and claiming dues to work with new employer

Q: I am working in a free zone company in Dubai, they haven't paid me for past 2.5 months.
Now, I have got another job but I fear they won't be paying my pending payment and end of service settlement before my visa cancellation.
However, to join the new company I need to cancel this visa and proceed for a new visa for working in their company.
Could you give me advice on how to proceed, as I understood if I am going for legal action I can't cancel my visa with this company?

Q: Hello Sir,
I was fired on JAN 20 2020 on the second day of arrival from vacation. They gave me 2 months of grace time to use the same visa to look for a job and also to settle my dues.
By April, they canceled my Freezone visa. I didn't get any job till Dec 2020 because the pandemic started, so I stayed and was looking for a job. Almost after a year, I got a job; the whole year I was jobless.
Almost a year and half later, my old Pro is threatening me if I didn't submit my new visa copy, they are going to file an absconding case on me.
I'm totally confused! How it even possible after a year and half they want my visa for some refund or to file a case against me?
Please advise on this!
I'm totally frustrated!

Reducing the salary of an employee before termination 0

I have been working in a private company in Dubai for the last 13 years under an unlimited contract. Recently, they have made my position redundant.
I am now serving 3 months notice period as per the labour contract (2 months already served, I am now in 3rd and last month).
My employer has put me on forced paid leave to adjust my notice period against leave days balance. I need some clarification per below, please.
1. The employer is paying me a full salary for a notice period of 3 months. However based on the recent announcement from the Ministry of Labor (for Private Co. employees), can my employer reduce my salary temporarily/permanently in this last month of notice period?
2. If the answer to question 1 is YES, how will it impact the calculation of my end of service benefits like gratuity or leave balance encashment? Will it be recalculated based on the revised (reduced) salary?
3. Am I eligible to claim any other Termination/redundancy pay apart from gratuity and leave balance encashment?
