Q: Dear Honorable Lawyers,
I worked in Doha, Qatar for 15 years. I serviced a personal loan and had excellent payment records.
I got laid off at the end of 2017 and was still paying for another 6 months in 2018 despite being unemployed until I could not pay anymore.
I left Doha and returned home hoping I could find a job and slowly settle it. The bank HQ in Dubai contacted me and I told them of my unemployment and also felt ill.
Simultaneously, they asked a collection agency to follow up as and I told them the same as well. Now, I am much better and potentially may be hired in Dubai for a job.
The question is, can I be banned from entering the UAE?
I inquired from the bank to let me know how much I can settle but they are referring to the collection agency instead, which I told them I only will deal with the bank.
Can you please address my query if I am banned from entry to the UAE?
I don't want losing an employment opportunity and also to settle the loan, but I don't want to be arrested nor banned from entry to the UAE.
Advise, please.

I left Qatar with possible absconding, civil and criminal cases. Can I enter the UAE?

Q: Hi there,
In 2014 I had been to Qatar on a "Work-Business" visa valid for 30 days. Before my visa expiration, I fled from Qatar back to India without informing the sponsor or office management.
After I returned to India, I received an email from HR stating that the Qatari sponsor has filed an absconding case, a civil case, and a criminal case against me with the Ministry of Interior in Qatar.
Now my question is, can I travel to Dubai on a work visa?
Will there be any issue entering Dubai assuming that the Qatari sponsor has filed the said cases against me?
Awaiting your response,
H.
Currently staying in India.

Traveling to the UAE with a loan in Qatar. Are there any potential issues?

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I worked in Qatar for 15 years as an HR/Admin Executive. During the corona time, I contracted the virus and came to India in May 2021 for better treatment while on leave.
While on leave, the company terminated my employment and forcibly took registration. My settlement was sent to the bank, but I still have an outstanding loan of about 80,000 Qatari riyals, and the bank has banned me in Qatar.
Now, I am considering working in the UAE. Are there any potential issues?
Please advise me!

Any issues traveling to Dubai for work with a loan in Qatar?

1
Q: Dear Lawyers,
I had a bank loan/credit card in Qatar back in 2015, which I paid off until I was there (March 2017). After losing my job, I was unable to secure a well-paid position to cover the remaining debts.
Numerous agents from a collection agency contacted me, even threatening me with a travel ban in the GCC, legal action, etc. Now, I have received a job offer in Dubai, and I would like to accept it.
Will I face any issues when I land in Dubai? I'm willing to pay the outstanding debt if the bank allows me to work and repay it.

My previous organization has not yet released EOSB because I contacted a client. Is this legal? 0
I recently joined a new organization in the Hamriyah Free Zone, and my previous organization has not released my end-of-service benefits.
The HR has instructed the finance team not to do so because I had contacted one of their clients.
In my DMCC contract, there is no Non-Compete clause, but the offer letter has one, and now they are not releasing the end-of-service.
Is this legal? What are my rights?

The trade license and visa were issued by the free zone authority.
I look forward to your response.
Thanks.

What can a company do if an employee agrees to stay but then stops reporting to work? 0
Hello,
My employee provided a resignation. Our company offered a salary raise and made a deal with him where he agreed to continue with us, but it’s not on paper.
He suddenly stopped coming to work, stating he doesn’t want to work anymore.
What rights do we have as a company, and what can we do about it?
