Checking the whereabout of a person arrested in the UAE
Good morning,
I am writing from Europe. My fiancé is a Nigerian citizen. He lives and works in Ajman since 3 years.
He is in trouble since last Monday. He works in night shift. He was asleep in his room when police went there and checked everybody.
My fiancé doesn't have a valid ID card. The police arrested him at a police raid.
He has a valid passport with a valid UAE visa. Since he was arrested, I know nothing about him.
I would like to know if an invalid ID card can be a reason for arresting someone over there.
If yes, how long will he stay in prison? How can I get any information about him?

Further to your inquiry, we would like to inform you that there is no way for the police to catch anybody because his Emirates ID is invalid. Simply, they will ask him to renew it and let him go.
But what happened with your fiance is such a strange incident. We do believe that it is related to another situation maybe he does not know about it too.
Anyway, please feel free to email us a copy of his passport, Emirates ID and residency for making a check through Ajman CID.
