1
Q: Dear Madam,
Good Afternoon,
I have a bounced cheque police case registered in Khalifa police station, Abu Dhabi. This month, 1st week, I settled the matter with the bank & they agreed to release my case for my new visa process.
This was a credit card case & bounced cheque with an amount of AED 16000. The bank lawyer submitted an online application for the case release almost 10 days ago, but it's still not approved.
For me, the issue is that my new company HR holds my visa submitting & if this is delayed more, my hiring will be cancelled & it will be a big loss for me because I was jobless since the last 2 years.
I can't do anything because I'm currently in my home country Pakistan. Please help me to find a way to solve this issue.
Looking forward to your kind feedback.
My Best Regards,
N. A.

Defaulting on credit card payments and checking records
17
Q: I have 5 credit card payment issues from 4 banks. Last year, I was detained for 2 days in the police station for one of the banks bouncing a cheque for AED 55,000.
I went to the prosecution and paid a fine of AED 5,000 and cleared the cheque bounce case. Now, two banks are saying that they have filed a case, but they have not provided me with any case number or other details regarding the same.
I tried to negotiate with the bank as I am having a bad financial situation since December 2017. Until this, all payments were done on time on every card.
I wish to know how I can check if the banks filed a civil case directly without bouncing the cheque and filing a criminal complaint. I checked on the Dubai police website to see if any criminal cases are present in my name but it showed nothing.
I am in doubt if I can travel in and out of the UAE. All my card limits are under AED 25000.
Please suggest what can be done to check if any travel ban or cases exist on my name.

Removing blacklist in the UAE for old credit card case
4
Q: Dear lawyers
I am from the Republic of Korea (Usually say South Korea). As my experience, I didn't have any difficulty and/or limitation for normal visiting and travelling to the UAE without particular visa till recent (Not for working).
But as I knew my name is still on the blacklist against the processing of working visa with a record of credit card fee payment delay even all payment had completed and closed that case. (I had worked as a chef during certain years a long time ago).
Can you delete my name from the blacklist for my potential working visa processing?
If possible, how much do I need to pay for lawyer fee and expected processing period?
Please let me know for my next follow up.
Thank you.
Regards
C. J.

Consequences of leaving the UAE without canceling the employment contract 0
I have been in Dubai 2 years ago. I left the country before the end of my contract with a hotel. I resigned after 4 months, they asked me to pay AED 5000 penalty.
Instead of paying the penalty, I just left and got back to my country. Am I banned? Will I be able to work in Dubai in the future?

Deducting housing allowance from end of service gratuity upon resignation 0
I have resigned from my current job and my last day is May 9th after a notice period of 2 months. I was employed for 4 years.
My employer has paid me a full year housing allowance and would like to deduct the remaining months from my end of service. Is this allowed? I have not been made aware that the amount would be deducted in case I resign.
Also, I am entitled to 30 days of leave per year. Since I have resigned, they have applied a pro-rata for this year for the end of service calculation. Is this allowed?
Shouldn't I be compensated for the 30 days that I have not taken?
Thank you!

If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country? 0
Hi.
One of my friends joined a Telegram group. They said, "We will transfer some amount to your account, and your task is to transfer this amount to another account. Once the task is completed, you will get 30 or 50 AED per task."
He completed 3 to 4 tasks, but he realized it was not good, so he stopped. After one week, when he opened his account, it was blocked, and the bank said, "We are conducting an investigation; after this, we will let you know."
After some days, he had an accident and went to his home country. He then received a call from a landline number, which was from the Abu Dhabi police station.
They said, "We have received a complaint against you; come to our investigation department." However, due to his surgery and treatment, he could not go.
After some time, his bank account was reopened, and he did not receive any further calls. I want to know, if he comes back to the UAE or goes to any other GCC country, will he face any problems?
If someone has a case in the UAE, can they travel to another GCC country?
Please advise!

How can we locate a person with an ongoing legal case? 0
Hello,
I am seeking your legal advice regarding a friend who was previously imprisoned in Abu Dhabi. His case there is now closed, but he has another ongoing case in Dubai.
Currently, we have lost contact with him and are unsure of his whereabouts. How can we check where he is or access any other legal facility?
Are there legal procedures to locate a person with an ongoing case?
What steps should we take to get more information about his status and legal position?
