Is it possible to have a 6 months tenancy contract in Dubai?

Hi,

Can I get 6 months tenancy contract for an unfurnished property in Dubai?

Also, can I get all utility connections for the same period?

Dear Sir/Madam,

Many thanks for your inquiry!

There are different types of lettings in Dubai but for long-term lettings under an Ejari contract that has to be registered with the government (Real Estate Regulatory Authority), the standard duration is one year.

With this type of tenancy, the landlord may choose to switch all utility connections to your name or they remain in his or her name and incorporates the utility costs into your rent.

Short-term lettings tend to be for shorter periods and property owners have to be licensed by the UAE Ministry of Tourism in order to offer this type of letting.

This may be ideal for you. All utility bills will be incorporated into the rent but expect to pay a slightly higher rate than you would otherwise pay under a long-term tenancy.

Hope the above helps you!

Many thanks,

Jennifer Arkhurst
