How to extend a lease for a few months

I am renting an apartment right now in Dubailand. The rental term ends by 28th of February. I am flying back to my home country on April 6th and I don't want to look for another stay for the last two months.

My landlord wouldn't mind when I stay until April 6th but he and I both don't know if it's legal and what do we need to do to make it binding between us.

Thanks and Best Regards

Dear Tenant,

NON RENEWAL: The tenant has to inform the landlord in writing at least 90 days prior to expiry date of the tenancy contract stating that he is not willing to renew the tenancy contract pursuant to Article 13 and Article 14 of the Law No. 33 of 2008 regarding 'Amending some provisions of Law No. 26 of 2007 Regulating Relationship Between Landlords & Tenants in the Emirate of Dubai' (the "Rental Law").

AUTOMATIC RENEWAL: If the new tenancy contract is not signed it gets automatically renewed on the same terms and condition and for a similar period.

PRE-MATURE TERMINATION: So when you will vacate the premises on 6th April, your landlord has the right to ask for the penalty of 2/3 months (as stated in the contract) for pre mature termination unless he decides otherwise.

So please follow the notice protocol for premature termination.

With best regards,

Mrs. Khan
