Labor rights for the annual leave

My employer does not want to give me the annual leave and when I took one week off to go back to my home country since my mother passed away, he deducted the same from my salary and refused to give it to me.

I have been working for one year and 7 months with the same employer, I think I am entitled to more than one month. What can I do?

You have to make the complaint to take your annual leave, this is your rights by law .. also, you can make a secret complaint about deduction at Labour Ministry if you sent to him e-mail before you travel.

What do you mean by "secret complaint"?

You have to call Labour Ministry to make a secret complaint and tell them your company deducted your salary .. this is for deduction only.

All employees in the UAE after completing a 6 month probation period are entitled to 30 days annual leave in a year. Please check your contract with the company.

If you take leave without permission from your manager or the company, your employer can file a complaint against you with the Labour office and treat you as an absconder.
