Q: Hello,I am a Syrian citizen living in Dubai for more than 13 years with valid resident visa and I would like to open a new LLC company in Dubai along with a local UAE sponsor (49% my share, 51% for the local sponsor). The company will offer and sell IT services/products (commercial license).I have the following questions:1 - Is it true that Syrians are mostly denied by DED due to security restrictions? Do you know any of your Syrian clients who received a license from DED recently? Are there any measures that I could take to improve my chances?2 - In case I had to issue a license under the UAE sponsor so he becomes 100% owner of my company (do I have another choice?) what are the legal steps that I should take to protect my rights? Would a strong power of attorney be sufficient? Thanks.

Setting up a tourist business in Dubai

0
Q: Hello!
What are the requirements, government expenses and lawyer fees for a foreigner to open a company in Dubai (and alternatively in one of the free zones)?
Are there any special licensing issues/expenses that we need to be made aware of if the main activity of the company is Tourism?

On which stage should I form a company for a new business in the UAE?
0
Q: Hi,
I am planning to start a business consultancy company in the UAE which will manage and run the complete business. We have our own projects in the paper for which we require partners.
At the same time, we are inviting individuals to show their interest to be part of any project as they will inform us their financial capability and once we will have sufficient number of people then we will form a separate LLC company in which all the investors will be the partners and our company will be the consultant to them.
If I want to do this by sending one video to my contacts on social media... is it fine and legal? Should I form the company first before sending the video presentation of the concept... as we are not taking any money from anyone... just to analyze the response of the people?
Thanks.

Is it required to cancel a Golden Visa upon setting up a company?

2
Q: Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a Golden Visa holder (10 years) and my wife is under my sponsorship and has a Golden Visa as well. She is setting up a sole proprietorship professional company in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for MoHRE registration and e-channel.
Does she need to change her visa from Golden Visa to her company visa? Does she have to cancel her Golden Visa?
The TAMM system is asking her to cancel her current visa, which is a Golden Visa.
Please help!

100% Foreign Ownership of Companies in the UAE 12
The UAE government has announced important changes to the federal Commercial Companies Law, the most significant is related to the foreign ownership of mainland companies. This will grant foreign investors the full ownership of share capital in companies carrying out certain activities specified to that effect by the competent authorities. This means that foreign investors’ shares will not be limited anymore to a maximum of 49% like before, but can be up to 100% instead.

View allLabor appeal 0
My employer has filed an appeal to the Dubai Court decision on our labor case where they did not show up by submitting a backdated termination letter showing termination before the filing of the labor case.
I have the pic of actual termination letter which I was asked to sign after the labor case.
Actual timeline 21-07-2015 labor case filed, 27-07-2015 I was asked to sign termination which I didn't backdate, the document shows 18-07-2015 before the labor complaint.

Tadawul Account early close out 0
I'm a UAE resident and hold an account with "Existential Group" aka "Tadawul"... Their contract is fairly basic but they have specified payout periods etc yet I've been struggling with them since December to get money out, on the first of this month I always formally requested to close the account and have all monies paid out yet not a single person is able to comply with this instruction. I'm desperate for the money which is legally mine. I have stressed to them in email and numerous phone attempts but no one response. I'm currently out of UAE and only back on 9 April so am finding this extremely stressful trying to retrieve my finances. Are you in any way able to assist, if so how and what costs could I face doing so? Thank you in advance

Short term lease in Dubai 0
There are many of private apartments in Dubai advertised as holiday homes for short-term rent. As far as I know, there is a special regulation of such leasing in Dubai, requiring a permission from the government authorities. How can I be sure, that booking of an apartment for a short stay, let's say through Airbnb, is legal? What documents should I ask from the landlord to be on a safe side?

Service charges 0
I am the owner of the property and I am entitled to pay all the service charges to the management company. For the last year, the cost raises almost twice with no reason.
So I have raised this question within my community and we are now 11 people wanted to file an investigation case to know why we are paying more the landlords next door in the same area.
What are the procedures from here?

Compensation for medical negligence 0
I was diagnosed with a liver disease and the doctor took a liver biopsy and when I came to see the result of the lab I was informed that they did not send the sample to the lab on time as the lab was closed for one day and then they forgot to send it again and after a week they present it to the lab and they informed them it was too late as the sample is damaged since it is supposed to be sent within 48 hours. Now I have to make another biopsy - which is for your information is not an easy procedure - for a mistake made by the hospital.
Can I claim for compensation?
