Removal of retina and fingerprint scan in the UAE

My friend was in the UAE for 10 years with a different name and family name on the passport due to legal issues in the UK.

Now the issue is solved in the UK and wants to return with his original name and family name and remove the eye scan and fingerprint in the system legally.

Can anyone please assist with the procedure and cost for it.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Thank you for reaching out to me on this.

Firstly, I would like to inform you that the retina and fingerprint scan remains in the system for perpetuity and cannot be removed legally.

Even though your friend changed his passport or his family name, the scan will stay the same as its biometrics.

Your friend can still return to the UAE with this original name provided the changes are made in the passport.

The biometrics in the system will not bar him from entering just because his name has changed.

If you have all the documents backing the change in name, it should not be an issue. Unless your friends are facing some legal proceedings, he is safe to enter into the UAE.

I trust you will find this helpful.

Regards,

Hari Wadhwana
