Settlement before the labor court and dismissing the case
Q: Greetings, I have filed a case against my previous employer for not clearing my outstanding salary/end-of-service pay. This was done through my labour complaint being transferred to the courts. However, my employer has agreed to pay the same & I would like to know how I could withdraw the case if they do so. Would there be any extra charges or consequences of my cancellation of the case? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Negotiating with the employee after a labour judgement
Q: Hello, How are you? I won my labour case on the date of 8 Jan. In the judgment, the company should give me AED 10,000. Today my boss called me and told me to take AED 3000 and cancel my employment visa. Otherwise, he will appeal to the court and reopen the case and take more than 1 year. So, I have a problem and better take the money, whatever he gives me. Can you tell me what do I do? My case was termination before finishing the contract.

Dropping the labour case against the employer to cancel visa
Q: Hi, I already filed waiving my labour case with my employer, I also dropped my labour compliant to my previous employer done at Tasheel. They told me to wait for the approval of cancellation and then I can cancel it at the immigration. I already told my previous employer that I dropped the court case (but it has to be notarized at Dubai Courts which I'm not yet doing it). They are not still withdrawing their labour complaint against me and they want me to go with them, but I don't want to see them because of their wickedness. My question is, is it okay not to communicate with the previous employer even though my cancellation is in the process? Will it affect me until I get the cancellation?

عواقب التنازل عن دعوى عمالية لتسريع التسوية الودية
س: السلام عليكم، رفعت قضية عمالية على الشركة للمطالبة بمستحقاتي وأود أن أسوي الأمر بصورة ودية قبل الجلسة لرغبتي في العودة لبلدي. السؤال: هل يمكن أن تُصدر الشركة حرمان لي بسبب تنازلي عن القضية والقول إنها شكوى كيدية؟

Does the jail term start counting from the date of arrest or date of judgment?
My brother is in jail for the last 2 months in Abu Dhabi, UAE. On 10/2/2022, the judge gave judgment for three months in jail and evict from the country. My question is do they count the days since they arrest my brother or from the day of judgment? Please let me know

Resigning and claiming labour dues after signing the cancellation paper
Hi I need your advice, please. I resigned and completed my notice period upon transferring my visa from DMCC to TECOM. My employer sent the end of service settlement along with my last salary and leave benefit. Now, to complete the process, they need me to sign that I have received the amount which I didn't. My previous employer is saying they don't have money right now and to sign then they will pay once available. My question here is that if I sign, do I lose my right to claim the money if they didn't pay? If yes, what kind of legal document or cheque can I ask them to provide prior signing? I'm hugely affected as I can't transfer the visa. I have asked DMCC and they said I can file a complaint for them to try to settle but I'm sure my previous employer will come and say no money without solid commitment to pay. Then DMCC will advise going to court which might take a long time. I don't like to make problems but I need advice on what I can ask them to provide to secure my money and to transfer my visa.
