Q: My husband has a travel ban in the UAE due to credit card debts.
I was staying in the UAE in the year 2011 along with my husband and we returned to India when he lost his job.
Now I am planning to travel to Dubai for a tour without my husband. Will there be any legal issues for my travel with my kids?
I did not have any banking transactions on my name during my earlier stay in Dubai.

Is the daughter responsible for the bank debts of her father?
0
Q: Hi,
My friend's father is in debt to Dubai banks and is out of the country. My friend is also no longer in Dubai but wishes to come back.
Is there any threat for her to enter Dubai to work or for visit?
Will she be held accountable or liable in any way?
The Dubai banks are also trying to get my friend's hometown local number and messaging her on social media and through contacting her office asking for her personal details to question about her father's debt.
Is this legal and allowed?
My friend is unsure how to get rid of the banks questioning her and wants to know what action she cant take to prevent this as it is not her debt.

The impact of a pending credit card debt on family members upon traveling
2
Q: Hi all,
One of my friends has a pending credit card debt in the UAE/Dubai. She left the country around 5-6 years ago.
She was contacted by an agency, approximately 1-2 years after she left, and was told that she has to make payments or else face a travel ban, a police case, etc.
She asked for the details of the transactions from the agency and bank so that she could settle the payments from outside the UAE, but the bank or agency did not provide detailed statements after repeated requests.
Now, after almost 4 years, my friend's family members, such as parents, cousins, and brothers, want to go on a holiday to Dubai.
Will they be prevented from entering Dubai and stopped at immigration if they have the same family name or address on their travel documents?
Can someone please advise, as my friend is quite worried?
Thanks in advance!

Returning to the UAE: the effect of mother's debts on the daughter

2
Q: Dear sir/madam,
My friend wants to return to the UAE. She previously held a mother sponsorship visa in the UAE. However, her mother has outstanding loans/credit card debts and she is a supplementary cardholder.
In 2016, both their visas were canceled and they returned to the Philippines. Will this affect her chances of returning to the UAE? She did not sign anything for these loans or credit cards, as she is not the principal holder.
However, since her visa is sponsored by her mother, who is the debtor, and she holds a supplementary card, will this affect her? Or will it not because she has not signed anything?"

How do I resolve a year-long pending police complaint to lift the travel ban? 1
Hello,
I need help!
A year ago, my previous employer filed a complaint at the police station accusing me of abuse. He did this because I had taken him to the labor court for not paying my salary.
The labor court case was resolved, and I received my salary. However, the police complaint is still pending. Initially, the police took my statement and informed me to wait for a court summons.
It has now been a year, and I have not received any summons. The case is still under police investigation. They have also informed me that there is a travel ban against me.
How can I remove this case from the police station?

Can I claim all the cheques, even though some will cover the amount owed? 1
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have invested money in a company in the UAE and got post-dated cheques. They requested to delay the payment for a long time. Now, I deposited one cheque and it bounced.
I am creating a cheque execution case. However, I have a few more cheques to deposit that they owe me. They gave me around 5 cheques, of which 3 will cover the money they owe.
Can I claim all the cheques? Will I face legal issues from them?

How can I remove a travel ban or avoid arrest if I left the UAE with an unpaid rent case? 0
In 2018, I was involved in a dispute concerning unpaid rent related to a property managed by [-----] under the jurisdiction of the Land Department. [----] proceeded with legal action, resulting in a civil case and the imposition of a travel ban.
A civil case had been reported in an Arabic-language newspaper. Not being fluent in Arabic, I missed the Land Department hearing, and the obvious outcome included an order for payment and a travel ban, but I had already left the country by that time.
questions:
Statute of Limitations: After how many years does such a civil case expire under UAE law, thereby allowing me to legally return to Dubai without facing arrest or enforcement actions?
International Travel: Am I currently at risk of arrest or extradition if I travel to non-GCC countries like India or Pakistan?

How can my kids learn about their father's condition without contacting his family? 0
Good morning,
I have two kids. Their father is in critical care and is not able to communicate, and we have been divorced for more than seven years.
The other side of the family is not communicating with the kids about the father's whereabouts for them to visit him, and they have not been in touch with the kids for the past two weeks due to family issues that took place in court regarding guardianship of the kids.
How can I find a way for our kids to know what is going on with their father and his condition without reaching out to them, to avoid any further escalation?
My daughter has tried to call them, but there was no response.
Please advise!

Can my husband take our 2-year-old daughter abroad without my consent? 0
Hello,
My husband has been threatening that he will take my 2-year-old daughter to Pakistan and leave her there with his family.
He has said this several times and has confirmed to my dad that he will be taking my daughter in the coming few weeks. We are both on his sponsorship.
What are my rights in the UAE? Can my husband travel with a minor without the mother's consent? How can I stop him from taking my daughter to Pakistan? Do I have any legal standing if I am under his sponsorship?

Bank filed a civil case over a loan: Better to settle with the bank or in court? 1
Good day, Sir,
I have received a message from the Dubai Court stating that a bank has filed a civil case against me. The loan has been pending since February 2019.
I cleared the cheque bounce case earlier with a court fine in 2019. I am looking forward to a minimum settlement plan with the bank. The outstanding amount was around 70,000 AED, and now the message is for 115,000 AED.
What will be the best way for me to proceed: approaching the bank or dealing with it in court?
Best regards,

I have given my notice, and my last day is July 24, but the employer is refusing to pay my salary; even the salary for June. Is this even legal?
He claims I'll get everything at once, which is after leaving the country or changing status.

Demanding that an employee pay for visa charges a year after resigning 1
Dear Lawyers,
I worked at a bakeshop here in Dubai. I resigned exactly one year ago. Now they want me to pay for visa charges, as stated in the offer letter.
If I cannot pay for the charges, my employer will claim financial loss due to the damages, estimated to be at least 7,000 AED.
What should I do about this? My monthly salary is only 2,800 AED.
