Consequences of not handing over the rented car to company
Hi,
I was working in Dubai and the owner of the company where I was working ran away from Dubai leaving all the employees stuck.
I was driving a rental car rented by the company as part of the contract between me and the company.
When I cancelled my visa, there was nobody to take the car from me so I left it with my friend who delivered the car later to one employee who returned it back to the rental car company.
I am now applying for a good conduct certificate from Dubai, would this car issue cause any troubles for me?

I understand your grievance and would state that there won't be an issue on you since the car was not in your name (rented under the company name).
Hence, the rent a car company would have directly filed a case against the company for non-payment of rent dues if any.
However, it is possible that the company would have filed a case against you for not returning the car on time or not returning to the company official.
I would suggest you apply for the Police Clearance Certificate and if the same is not being issued, then we can search the police records and ascertain the issue.
Any police-related issue can be resolved remotely if done through proper legal channels.
