Checking possible pending cases before passing through transit
I left the UAE in 5/16. I had a car that was supposedly sold by my company, also as part of my leaving package all my debt (credit cards) where to be met by my company.
Only recently I’ve found this not to be, they have moved the liability around. I am working in the US and need to travel to Dubai in a change-over stop. I lived there for 8 years.
Will I be held at the customs on the flight transition, or I will be able to travel through?
My company are not helping.
Can you please help me?

This requires searching for your name on the private system in the state to know whether you're forbidden to enter the state or not.
If it does not exist there is no problem of entering the state and if there is a problem and you're prohibited from entering the country, you cannot enter before lifting this order.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
Thank you for getting in touch with me on this.
It appears that your company has not fulfilled the commitment of paying the dues on your behalf and in such circumstances, the liability is still affixed to you.
In case of bank dues, there is a good probability that the bank might have deposited your security cheque, got it bounced and filed a police case against you.
In case of such police case, there is an automatic travel ban levied upon you i.e. you cannot enter or exit the country.
If you attempt to do so, then you will be held at the airport and lawful action will be taken against you.
In your case, if there is a police case then you will be held at Dubai Airport. I would sincerely recommend that you get your police records checked for any case/fines against you.
If there is a fine then you can simply pay the fine and get the travel ban lifted. Please note that when I say pay the fine, I do not mean pay the whole principal amount of your credit dues (e.g. for dues of 50,000, there may be a fine of AED 2000-3000).
Considering you have your travel planned, you should take prompt and proactive steps to check if there is any case against you. And if there is, then clear it as soon as possible.
I can assist you with checking your police records and you may email me your passport copy and old visa page.
I trust you will find this in order.
