Debt collection

In September I moved from my apartment and as I have a contract with Etisalat I called them to ask if I can move my connection to other address. I have been told that this area is coved by Du so I have been suggested to close my account, which I did.

Now after such a long time, I have received an email from Etisalat that my account was overdue by almost 2k Dh. I directly contacted Etisalat, I have spoken with a few people there without any resolution. Also, I have emailed to their customer care centre but till now my complaint has not been resolved. All the supportive documents I have in hands.

Where do I stand from a legal perspective? What would you advise?

In this regards, if you have the sufficient supporting documents to prove that you have indeed requested the disconnection of the service and it has been deactivated as per your request and that you have paid the final bill. Then you should wait until the issue is resolved with Etisalat or wait until they keep sending you warnings and stick to your position of not paying, then you will get a call from their legal department and then from their lawyer telling you they will file a case before the Courts.

I advise that you send me these documents to my email so I can review them and advise whether you have a strong situation in the matter in case they went to court.
