Q: I'm a German national who got an offer for a job in JAFZ, which I subsequently accepted by signing an "Employment LOI" starting 09.04.17.
On 10.05.17 the LOI was revoked because my work permit got rejected by the DNRD. The reason for rejection was not given and I was told by company's PRO that I'm not allowed in Dubai. I have never been in Dubai before the rejection.
I contacted JAFZA and found out that the PRO made mistakes in submitting the application. A company letter was requested and was never provided.
The PRO convinced the company that my father's religion "Shiite" and my birthplace "Lebanon" is the problem. I was then told by the PRO that I'm not allowed to enter Dubai. I was able to enter on 15.05.17 without any problems.
1. Is the LOI legally binding? It does not state any conditions concerning the visa.
2. Can I sue the company under the anti-discrimination law and demand compensation?
3. Can I find out why DNRD rejected the application as the company is refusing to ask for clarification?

Withdrawal from a job offer before signing labour contract

Q: I recently got a job offer through email from a semi-governmental company in Dubai which was labelled as indicative job offer as the subject.
I accepted the job offer through email providing all my educational documents and passport. This indicative offer through email is subject to approval by the government.
Attached documents included personal detail form, Non-declaration form and visa form. Nothing like a proper job offer letter or any document from MOL.
Is it binding for me or I can still reject? Will I be subjected to any employment ban if I reject now? Which document or stage will make me legally bound?

Withdrawing a job offer after issuing an offer letter, contract and work permit
1
Q: Hi,
I was supposed to start a job at a new company after having resigned from my old job and completed my notice period.
The new company issued me an offer letter, contract, and work permit, however, they have kept changing the start date, and now, after waiting 6 weeks to start the new job, I’ve been told that the offer has been withdrawn due to a hiring freeze.
I’d like to know what Legal options I have as I have suffered financial loss, incurred visa overstay fees for my partner and child’s visas because I was unable to apply for their new visas.
I am unable to go back to my old company and the only option I have is to return back to my home country as I cannot continue to incur further overstay fines.
What legal options do I have?
Can I claim compensation?
Please advise!

View allHow can I vacate my tenant if the rental agreement ends before the eviction notice deadline? 0
My Dubai tenant's rental agreement is ending by the end of September 2024 and the completion of 12 months of legally served Eviction Notice is the end of December 2024.
I have two questions:
(a) Can I send a rent increase notice 3 months before as the rent has increased as per the RERA rent calculator?
(b) The second question is, do I have to renew the rental agreement for 3 months (until December 2024) or not?
Thank you.

How can I reach a settlement with the bank for a mortgage of a jointly owned property? 0
I have a jointly owned property in Abu Dhabi. The mortgage was defaulted on as I had to leave the property with my children following an assault by my ex-husband. He left the country in 2018 and never paid the mortgage.
As I was in the country, the bank filed a criminal case against me, and I was sentenced to 3 years. I won the appeal against the bank and then filed another criminal case a few months later in Dubai. Again, I won and paid a fine.
In 2019, the bank started a civil case against me and my ex-husband to have the property repossessed. However, at the time of the purchase of the property, there were no Title Deeds, the bank requires this.
I cannot give them the Title Deeds to sell the property and pay back the amount owed to them as my ex-husband refuses to provide a POA. The bank has filed another criminal case against me only for our jointly owned property.
I wish to resolve this and pay off the bank and receive any money left from the sale. How can I resolve this issue of the Title Deeds?

Can a real estate agency hold a percentage of a property sale until transfer is done? 0
A real estate agency has signed an MOU stating that a 10% security deposit from the buyer and the seller will be kept in the real estate agency and will be released upon transferring the property.
The transfer of the property was blocked due to the court order.
According to my colleagues, the real estate agency is not a trustee and they are not allowed to have taken my security check in the first place, is this correct?
