My cousin made a small accident while being drunk and driving.
What is the punishment in Abu Dhabi?
Dear Questioner,
Kindly be informed that as per the UAE law, drinking and driving is a crime, there is no level or percentage of alcohol that is permissible for the drivers on the UAE roads. Which means, even the smallest percentage of alcohol detected in someone's blood while driving will cause the driver to be detained, imprisoned and/or fined.
The case will be filed by the public prosecutor against the driver, will be forwarded to the court that is attached to the traffic department and the driver can be penalized to serve imprisonment time, payment of a fine or both.
