Q: Respected Sir / Madam,
On Mar 2014, my manager was in the process of transferring my visa to the main company.
On his personal guarantee and assurance, he asked me to sign the receipt of AED 34,894/- towards my full and final settlement for the period I worked from August 2007 to March 2014.
Nevertheless, he never made any payment and just assured that he'll pay the same later, saying that the company used my dues for company urgent expenses.
Also between April 2014 to December 2014, and on many occasions, he requested on his personal guarantee and assurance to use my credit card for company official payments. The amount outstanding is AED 13,337/-.
When I started to follow up on my dues, he simply kept dragging and assuring the payment. I begged him many times to clear my dues but he never made any attempt to pay my dues.
He conned, lied and cheated me with my hard earned money, along with the employer.
The company is closed now and we both are working in different companies.
Please advise regarding the legal options to get my dues from him.
Regards,
Vinod

Proof of innocence in an embezzlement case
2
Q: My brother in law is in jail for taking AED 12 million from his company and he is in jail (Abu Dhabi, UAE) under remand.
I don't know whether he had taken the money or not, but his employer is saying he had taken it and given him a confession letter. I don't know about the confession they took.
I had not seen him because it happened last week and I am not able to go and meet him as it is very far from my house and also I have no blood relation.
I need to take permit from the prosecution department. I trying to meet him by next week. Kindly advise me what I need to do. Also, advise me on:
1. Suppose the above thing has happened, how many years he needs to be in jail?
2. If it is a false case by the employer, how will we prove his innocence?
3. Will the court give a chance to him to prove he is innocent and how? Please note that he has no advocate.
4. I assume this will be a false case as the employer is saying he started doing so for the last three years. This company had every year annual audit and they did not find.

How to defend yourself against wrongful accustions of embezzlement by the previous employer?

1
Q: My wife has a case against her stating that she & a few other colleagues aided their boss in embezzling company finances in their former company.
My wife spent a total time of 2 months in training. She was not even provided a visa from that company. The claims of embezzlement happened even before she joined that company.
Is there a possibility of having the case against her dropped?

What to do if you received a call from a person claiming to be a lawyer 0
I received an unsolicited call on a Saturday night (6.06pm to be precise), on my mobile phone in my place of residence from a lawyer (think he's actually a partner) claiming to represent my ex-wife in a matter pertaining to a divorce agreement that was ratified in Zimbabwe at the end of August.
He threatened that the full force of his law firm will be thrown at me if I did not settle the monetary claim within 48 hours of our telephone discussion. 80% of the monetary amount in question was actually remitted that afternoon, prior to his call, which he didn't bother to inquire about.
There was no formal notification in writing that their services had indeed being retained by my ex-wife. I am not sure if he followed due process & his threats could be construed as coercion in a matter that was all but resolved.

Is it legal to discuss maintenance of a child with the employer of my ex-husband? 1
Hello.
I would like to know if it is legal or illegal to contact my ex-husband's HR dept due to his refusal to pay for child support since the birth of our child (Age 16 now). He lives and works in Dubai.
I have remarried and have other children, moved to Abu Dhabi 1 1/2 yrs back and contacted him at his office. He has failed on every promise until now. I cant afford the high legal fees to file a case.
Please, let me know what are my options. Thanks.
