Questions & Answers
How can I settle a loan and credit cards in the UAE to avoid travel ban in GCC countries?
I had a loan & credit cards in the UAE, and during my vacation, I lost my job. I still paid the installments, but I couldn’t find a job for one year.
I left and am now getting a job in Bahrain. I want to clear my loans in the UAE because it’s been two years.
Can I easily travel to Bahrain, or is it a problem, as it is a GCC country?
And how can I ask the bank to waive the interest amount?
I really need to clear off the debt with banks at the earliest now.
Thank you for sharing your situation.
From what you’ve described, your primary concern is whether pending debts in the UAE can affect your travel to Bahrain, and how best you can settle your bank liabilities after a gap of two years.
Generally, outstanding loans and unpaid credit card balances in the UAE can lead to civil cases or even execution proceedings if the bank has already initiated legal action.
However, there is no automatic travel restriction within the GCC unless a travel ban has been officially issued by a UAE court.
To be safe, we first need to check whether any criminal complaints, civil judgments, or travel bans have been registered against you in the UAE. Once clarified, we can advise you on your movement to Bahrain.
As for settlement, banks are usually open to negotiations in such cases, especially when you show intent to pay and request a waiver or reduction of accumulated interest and penalties.
A formal legal representation often helps to open structured dialogue with the bank, where we can push for a “settlement letter” or “clearance letter” with reduced liabilities, enabling you to clear the matter and restore your financial record.
I strongly suggest we take this up directly with your concerned banks, verify the status of your case with the UAE courts, and then put forward a legal request for interest/penalty waivers and restructuring.
This way, you will have clarity on your travel and a clean way to settle debts without surprises.
You may reach me on WhatsApp or call so we can discuss your exact bank details and start working on a proper strategy to protect you and finalize a settlement.
Dear questioner
We need to negotiate with the banks to get a waiver of penalties and interest.
If the case is filed, then we may need to check through the court as well.

No, traveling to Bahrain is not easy and may pose a significant challenge if your bank has filed a lawsuit or banned you from traveling due to non-payment of your loan.
You should contact your bank in the UAE immediately to settle or negotiate your debt.
Requesting an interest waiver is possible, but it depends on the strength of your case and the bank's negotiating ability. This may require submitting a repayment plan or proving your inability to repay.
