Q: Good day everyone! Can anyone help me to find answers to some questions? Thanks in advance. Since I am new in Dubai Courts, I had a couple of questions. I filed a labor case in MOHRE regarding non-payment of gratuity. MOHRE accepted my complaint and they refer me to the court. I filed a case in court and I am waiting for my case number and date of hearing. Now, my questions are: 1. What would happen on the first hearing? 2. When is the second hearing? 3. What happens when I give my tenant an eviction notice mid tenancy contract?
Q: I gave my tenant a notarised eviction notice to vacate my apartment as I want to sell it. I handed the notice in December 2022, and the current tenancy agreement expires in April 2023. The tenant has raised a case in RDC seeking a full 12-month contract renewal till April 2024, which will exceed the notice period. Q: I recently bought an apartment with an existing tenant. The previous owner served the tenant an eviction notice via Dubai Courts. By using this notice, can I evict the tenant or not? The eviction period ends on September 2023 and the current contract ends on April 2023. If I can evict the existing tenant, how should I prepare a new contract? Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Does the existing tenancy contract between the tenant and the previous owner remain in force even after the new landlord has purchased the property in the middle of an ongoing lease? And when should a new tenancy contract be made? Should it be made immediately after the property has been sold, or at the end of the ongoing tenancy contract signed between the previous owner of the property and the tenant? Q: We are an Abu Dhabi foreign branch office of Bahrain and Bahrain is owned by the UK. We have successfully registered our logo with MOE using our Abu Dhabi trade license. However, our UK office said that all IP should be under the name of the UK head office. The UK wants to assign the trademark/logo to the UK head office. Can we assign/transfer the right to the UK?
