Q: Hi sir, I worked in a company for 7 months on a limited contract. I`ve submitted my resignation and need to pay the visa costs. Today, I received the HR`s resignation approval letter. Worker visa application is rejected due to absconding. What to do now?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, Two months ago, I had a visitor visa for Sharjah. Two weeks before my visa expired, I found a job. However, the employer took time to change my visa, submitting the application for a worker visa the day after my visitor visa expired. Unfortunately, the application was rejected on grounds of absconding. Now, I have overstayed for three days. What can I do now?

Visa cancellation: Sign wrongful EOS or wait six months for automatic cancellation?
Q: Dear lawyers, I have a question about visa cancellation after termination and need urgent help. I got fired during probation and they told me to return everything immediately and not to serve during the notice period. So I returned to my home country before my last day of work (just 1 day earlier) due to a family emergency. After that, they settled my EOS and then initiated the visa cancellation. The EOS letter I signed at that time said "Termination Type: Termination by company". I was already out of the country at that time and they asked me to come back to UAE to cancel my visa but I didn`t. So now they said not to come back but asked me to sign a new EOS letter but this time it says "Termination Type: Out of country". If I sign this, can they put absconding on me? Can I just not sign it and wait for 6 months to get my visa canceled automatically? They do not seem to have good intentions, that`s why I need your help to ensure my rights are protected. How can I release funds from my accounts after being frozen for a year by the Central Bank?
Q: Hello, It`s been more than one year since all three bank accounts in Dubai were frozen suddenly without any notice. When I started to inquire regarding it I got the answer that my bank accounts are frozen by the Central Bank of the UAE. Although accounts are debit-frozen only. I had some heavy transactions in one of my accounts and there is a huge amount stuck in my bank accounts. I am willing to hire a lawyer or consultant who can assist me in releasing the funds from my accounts. I am currently out of the country but I still hold UAE residency. Bought car at Emirates auction, papers uncleared, can't use. How refund money?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I bought a car in an Emirates auction 3 months ago. The car papers were not passed/cleared when the car was delivered to me, so I cannot drive the car. I am unable to resell the car. The Emirates Auction office is not providing a meeting. I am unable to export the car and I can`t do anything. Can the payment terms be changed from monthly to one upfront cheque?
Q: Hi there, My lease is up for renewal and I have agreed to the 10% increase, however, my landlord now wants to change payment terms from monthly payments which I have been doing for the past 3 years, into 1 cheque upfront which I can not afford or able to do. Does the landlord have a right to do this or can I refuse the terms but accept the increase of 10%? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Q: After the Dubai labor court verdict how long one must wait to get money from the company? I have not heard anything after the verdict from my lawyer neither the company nor the government. Should I keep quiet on the assurance from the lawyer with only two words? Nothing yet. How long does an employer hold the payment from the Dubai Courts? Is there any time limit? Q: Hi, My husband lost his job 6 years back and he has not been able to find a job. He got a loan from a bank and they filed a civil case. We also came to know he has a standing warrant of arrest. New developer wants to change payment terms. How to me to protect my rights?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, I bought a residential property for AED 7 million in Dubai from a developer in 2013 and registered the property in the same year. The project has been delayed and is still not complete. The original developer sold/transferred the project to another developer in 2022. The project is now 60% complete as per the latest RERA inspection report. The original payment terms in the Sales Purchase Agreement were a final balance payment of 40% to be payable on the handover of the property. However, now the new developer has drafted a new Sales Purchase Agreement where he is demanding 90% to be paid in stages while construction is in progress, and only a balance of 10% to be payable on the handover of the property. The RERA website states project completion by Dec 2025. Please advise if the new developer has the legal right to change these payment terms. What options are available to me to protect my investment and my rights?
