Can I finalize our divorce in the UAE while my wife is in her country?
Q: Hello, My wife and I are from two different countries (Egypt and Tunisia), and we both reside in the UAE. She recently traveled back to Tunisia, and while her residency in the UAE is still active, we are unsure if she will return. We have agreed to divorce and do not have children. How should we proceed with the divorce process? Does she need to be in the UAE to complete it, or can the process be handled remotely?

Denying end-of-service pay by demanding unpaid rent after years of free accommodation
Q: Hello, Can an employer withhold end-of-service pay by citing accommodation was provided? The employer allowed me to stay in a residence under his authority for 9 years, with a one-year contract and rent paid. However, as no Ejari was made, we continued to stay, and the employer stopped asking for rent for 8 years. Now, seeing that I may retire soon, he has started asking for rent for the past 8 years to avoid paying the end of service owed for my 25 years of service. Is this legal, and what can I do?

Q: Hello Everyone, I have been working with a client for the past year through a service company. The client has decided not to continue the contract with the service company, and instead, they have offered me a position through their consulting company, which I have accepted. I have also resigned from the service company, but on my last day, they pressured me to send an email stating that I would not be working for the client, either directly or indirectly. I have not signed any NDA or contract apart from the MOHRE contract. Now, the service company is threatening to take legal action and blacklist my visa if I join the client. Somebody filed a wrongful complaint against me with the police and I have a travel ban. What can I do?
Q: I am facing an issue. I helped 1 lady and told her "Ma`am there is empty parking you can park." She called the police and the police opened a case 3 months ago. I faced this issue and the police transferred the case to the public prosecution after staying 1 month in the police station. Now for 2 months, I have been going to the prosecution. Q: Good Day! I am a partner in a trading license with two other individuals. Both of them were managing the business together as a cash-based operation without a bank account, while I was working elsewhere as an employee. Now, one of the partners has passed away, and his parents are in conflict with the remaining partner, claiming he owes them money. However, the surviving partner insists that no money is owed and that everything is settled. The license has now expired and cannot be renewed because the deceased partner’s family is not cooperating, leading to fines due to the inability to renew it. Additionally, the remaining partner continues to conduct the same business, occasionally purchasing items under the company name. As I am a low-salaried individual and cannot afford court fees, is there a way to remove myself from this situation, or are there any authorities who can assist me in this matter? I am willing to help and provide whatever is required as evidence in this case. Please advise!

How can I reach a settlement with the bank for a loan to lift travel ban and get a new visa?
Q: I have a financial debt of approx. 90K AED (loan & credit card). Due to the end of my recent contract and being jobless, I was unable to make the last 2-3 months EMIs. Q: I`m currently on a tourist visa. When I arrived at the Immigration, I was sent to the police station, and from there they told me to go to Dubai Courts to settle the issue. Q: Hi I`m an Irish citizen and a resident of the United Kingdom. I got investment fraud in Dubai. I invested money into a business with a Pakistani national guy in March 2024 via bank transfer into his business account. Now he`s giving back the money which I invested in business after 9 months. He`s preparing a letter from a local lawyer to kick me out of the business. I do not have any other option than to take out at least my money. But it`s unfair to me that he used my money in business and took all the advantage. Some people say to me that if you claim money or take legal action against him, it will take too much time and I need to travel to Dubai to appear in court because it is a civil matter. But I`m not a resident. How can I follow the civil case there? That`s why my partner knows that I can not do anything and this case keeps running long time and in the end nothing happens. But I`m thinking that I will submit a complaint through my embassy and I also have a solicitor in the United Kingdom.

We had a bad lawyer in Iraq who stole property by forging documents. This man said he had many connections to help us. While it was true that he had connections, he didn’t actually help us. Instead, he cooperated with the bad lawyer, agreed with him, and gave the bad lawyer all our important documents.
