Can I travel after settling my civil case with the bank?
Hello,
I have a civil case from the bank, but we have settled it. The amount is paid.
Can I travel now? According to them, I have no ban.
Hello,
If you have settled your civil case with the bank and fully paid the agreed amount, and the bank has confirmed there is no travel ban, you should be able to travel.
However, it is advisable to:
- Obtain a clearance letter from the bank confirming full settlement and no objection.
- Check with the court or police (via Dubai Police app or Al Adheed Centre) to ensure there are no active travel bans or cases in your name.
- Verify with the immigration department (GDRFA) if you want additional peace of mind before traveling.
If you need assistance in confirming your legal status or obtaining clearance, kindly contact us.

Hello,
Since you have settled the case with the bank and the full amount has been paid, you should be able to travel provided that there are no active travel bans or legal restrictions against you.
However, to ensure that there are no remaining travel restrictions, I recommend checking with the relevant authorities before making travel arrangements.
In the UAE, travel bans due to civil cases are usually lifted once the outstanding amount is fully settled, and the bank confirms that no further action is required.
If the bank has stated that there is no ban, this is a positive indication, but it is always advisable to check officially through the police or the court system to avoid any last-minute issues at immigration.
If you need assistance in checking for any active travel bans, obtaining an official clearance letter, or ensuring that all legal formalities have been completed, feel free to contact me via phone or email. I can provide legal support to ensure that you have no legal restrictions before you travel.
Even though you've completed your settlement plan with the bank, and they've verbally confirmed there's no travel ban, it's crucial to get an official confirmation in writing before making any travel plans.
So, it would be better if you could obtain a clearance before travel.

Dear Questioner,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand your concern regarding traveling following the settlement of your civil case with the bank.
Based on your explanation that the settlement plan has been completed and the outstanding amount has been paid, along with the bank’s confirmation that there is no travel ban, it is generally permissible for you to travel. However, I recommend the following to ensure everything is in order:
- Confirm the Case Closure: Please ensure that the court has officially acknowledged the settlement and that all necessary documents have been filed to formally close the case.
- Check with Relevant Authorities: Although the bank has informed you that there is no travel ban, it is advisable to verify this directly with the Ministry of Interior (MOI) or through the police to confirm that no travel ban has been placed against you in the system.
- Request a Formal Travel Ban Check: If you wish to be absolutely certain, I can assist in conducting an official check to confirm that there are no restrictions on your travel.
- Outstanding Liabilities: Ensure that there are no remaining dues with the bank or any creditors. Once you’ve cleared the settlement and received confirmation, you should be in the clear to travel without issue.
Please feel free to let me know if you would like assistance with checking the travel ban status or if you require further clarification.
Best regards,
