Q: Hi, I would like to get your legal advice regarding my employment termination. I was on a 24-month limited contract, and I’m currently in my 10th month. The company terminated me with a 30-day notice period, but without any valid reason, prior warning, or performance issue. Could you please advise if this is considered an arbitrary dismissal under UAE Labour Law, and what compensation or claims I may be entitled to in this situation? Thank you in advance for your help!

Can I file a complaint against my company for discrimination between employees?
Q: I am working in the UAE and facing issues of workplace favoritism and possible discrimination. Despite being a consistent top performer with many years of experience, I was rejected for a promotion that was instead given to someone with less experience and weaker performance. When I asked for feedback, I was given contradictory and false reasons, including being told that HR rejected me based on “how I sat in the interview,” even though it was an audio-only call. I was also told that promotions are not based on performance but on whether I had the “manager’s blessings.” In addition, I have observed: - Promotions are repeatedly going to people from the same community or close to managers. - Most of the management team belongs to one community. - Shift schedules are being changed after release to favor certain individuals. This has created a toxic environment with no fair career growth opportunities. My question is, under UAE labor law, do I have grounds to challenge this type of favoritism?

The company paid our salaries after we stopped work and filed a complaint in MOHRE. Do we still need to report to work?
Q: What should we do if, after filing a complaint with MOHRE, the company has already paid all our salaries? Do we still need to report to work? How can I make an offer and deposit for a returned rental cheque?
Q: My cheque has been returned. RDC informed me that I can make an offer and deposit for the returned cheque. Does anyone know how this works? They said it is different from the offer and deposit you do prior to renewal, where you wait 5 days. With this type of offer and deposit, you can hand over the cheque to RDC. Please advise.

How to remove a lifetime ban after serving jail term and deportation in a drug case?
Q: I would like some advice. Someone has been deported from the UAE after serving 1.5 years in jail for a drug case and has a lifetime travel ban. Does this ban remain only in the UAE, or is it applicable to other GCC countries such as KSA, Qatar, or Oman? Additionally, is there a way to remove this travel ban in the UAE when a person`s family is still based in the UAE? If yes. What’s the procedure?

My company forged my signature to cancel my visa after my resignation. What can I do?
Q: I resigned from my company as they forged my signature to cancel my visa quickly. They informed me only after transferring my settlement without my approval, and they instructed the bank to hold my account with the EOSB, knowing I have pending liabilities with my bank. They sent me a copy of my cancellation to sign, but I refused and told them I would come in the morning to sign. However, when I later checked my visa status, I was shocked to see that I had already been cancelled. I reported this to MOHRE, but they kept telling me to go to the police. I obtained a soft copy of my visa cancellation, and I saw that my signature had been copy-pasted — it came from HR. Do I need a lawyer to file my case? I don’t have enough money to manage because the bank is holding my gratuity. I don’t know what to do now. Maybe someone can help me with my case, as I also don’t have the money to renew my visa since the bank has blocked my current account.2025/09/15

I received a verdict on my personal name for my company unpaid rent without proper notification. What to do?
Q: Hello, our business has unpaid rent. 1. The 30-day notice named my business but also wrongfully named my private name, while the rental contract is solely under the business name. I`m sure it was done in bad faith by the landlord to try to damage me personally. 2. After the 1st notice, I expected an RDC notification, and nothing came. I just logged in today on my app and saw that a verdict was pronounced on the 21st of August in this case, without me even getting an email, messages, or notification at the office to even appear at the 1st instance! How can this be handled? First of all, this rental situation should not involve my private name as the company is the sole tenant on this contract, and second, no notifications were ever sent to me, although at the office every day! Can the hospital force me to pay more money for emergency claiming that treatment exceeds insurance limit?
Q: We went to the hospital for an emergency and stayed for 3 days, then, before leaving, they asked us to pay 10% as per our insurance policy. After 2 weeks, they informed us that the insurance policy covers only 2k, and we have to pay 3.2k, the balance I was not informed about before. Then, they sent the invoice to debt collectors to warn us What shall we do now? I read that they have to tell us about the cost in advance. Can this debt collector sue us?

Q: My wife filed a divorce case due to harm. It was rejected as there was a reconciliation between us, and she took back the police complaint. That`s why the court rejected her case. Now she filed an appeal with the same allegation without any new incident or any new evidence. There is no police report or medical report in the appeal court. How can I remove my business partner from the company if he left the country and is not responsive?
Q: I am writing to formally seek your guidance and assistance regarding my Technical Trade License and associated joint bank account. I hold a Technical Trade License together with my business partner, Mr. K. M., who has been out of the country for the past 2–3 months. During this period, he has been unreachable and has not responded to any calls or communication. Additionally, my partner has taken an amount of AED 30,000 from me, which has not yet been repaid. We also maintain a joint bank account under the company, which I wish to close. However, the bank requires both partners’ signatures for cancellation. As my partner is absent and not cooperating, I am unable to proceed. In view of the above, I kindly request your advice and support on the following: - The process to remove my partner’s name from the Trade License. - Guidance on how to proceed with closing or freezing the joint bank account in the absence of my partner’s signature. Q: Hello, I have filed a cheating case in the Dubai Misdemeanor Court (initial complaint at Raffa Police Station). Hearings have not yet started. I now have credible information that the accused plans to dispose of his business to avoid repayment. I want to file, within the same criminal case: - A petition to freeze the transfer/sale of the business. - A petition for civil recoverability through the criminal proceedings. Q: Dear all, I’m seeking legal advice regarding a refundable deposit of AED 1,000 paid to a car trading company around a year ago while considering the purchase of a used car. I have a rental dispute judgment against me to vacate, but the landlord is not fullfilling his obligations. What to do?
Q: Hi I have a real estate rental dispute. 1) My rental dues have been wrongly quoted, and the same has to be corrected with the court and then paid off. I had taken it up with the landlord, but the Landlord`s legal department and property manager are just not responding 2) I had been given a decision from the court to clear my items and hand over the custody of the flat, but the Landlord did not adhere to the court order, due to which the eviction happened. 3) The Landlord had paid some amount to the Court for the Items and now had reached out for payment to allow me to take the items. I have paid the amount to his account directly, but he has now appointed an auction house to auction the items. I have to take immediate action to stop the same and allow me to obtain the items or claim compensation.+1
