Q: Asalamualekum, Please help me understand how much time it will take for the Dubai court to lift the travel ban once my cheque execution case is dismissed. I have paid almost 70% of the loan amount and am ready to settle with the bank by paying some amount, but the bank wants me to pay 200,000 when the loan amount was only 148,000.

Can the employer ask employees to work from home of weekends without paying overtime?
Q: We are engineers working for a company doing technical support for customers. They were asking us before to work on weekends on an on-call basis & we were given compensation even if there were calls or no calls. For the last 4 or 5 years, the new manager removed the compensation if there were no calls on weekends despite us restricting our time at home or not going far or instead enjoying the weekends with personal or family matters. The manager will only compensate us if there are service calls that are chargeable & no compensation if non-chargeable like warranty calls. Is this legal?+1

Q: Hi there. I have resigned in March. My last day is June 12th. When I finish I will have completed 11 months. I have offered compensation in lieu of notice. My company has rejected it. Is this legal for them to reject? Secondly - as said the last day is June 12th. My employer told me today they will not pay me my May salary in May. Instead, they will hold it and pay in my settlement in June. Is this legal? I work in a free zone but their employment rights they have said are as per MOHRE.+1

Can we expedite a medical error case while the final DHA report is delayed?
Q: Dear Sir/Madam, We received a report from DHA stating that there has been a gross medical error since May 2023. The doctors then asked for a grievance, and we are still waiting for the final report from the High Committee. It`s been almost a year since the first report was shared, but there has been no progress yet. How to claim my share in a company from a partner who is trying to put hand on everything?
Q: On June 23rd, I was introduced to a gentleman through a friend to partner with on developing a new software solution. For his end of the deal, he was to produce 45% of the software to a spec which was agreed in June, and then once it was built to that spec the company would take over payments. The company was established Aug 23rd. In September, he started asking for payments for 50% of the costs, circa 10k Euro or development would stop. To date, I have paid almost 70k Euro to him for the development. The software only became useable, still not to the agreed spec around 90 days ago. Since then he has been trying to get myself and my wife (jointly we own 45%) out of the company through various means. He tried to steal the domain by accessing my personal Tasjeel account to transfer to his own but this was stopped. He is now threatening to force company closure, no refund of our money, and keep the software for himself. What can we do? He has used almost all my cash to date to get to this point.
